Created by Samuel Adams Employee Teresa Bury, PA.

Teresa made it a personal challenge to create a beer with a strong hop flavor that was balanced with her favorite fruit, pineapple. Brewed with four different American hops for a burst of grapefruit character thatís mellowed and complemented by the tropical fruit notes from the pineapple.

12oz bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a thin tan head. The mild aroma offers up pineapple gummy bear candy that has a dullness to it as well as malts and a sliver of another malt like biscuit or something. The taste begins with fruitiness, that I may not have pinned as pineapple had I not known, where it slides into a bit of hop like bitterness that is in an inescapable sweetness hold as it gets more pineapple gummy bear like to midway. Interesting but kind of lacks hops for the stated style.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Soda-like unimpressive non-head. Sweet malt and pineapple aroma. Pretty weak hoppiness, more malt centered. Almost like a bock in a weird way, with the thick, bready malt tones. Like all Longshot beers, seems like they take a good idea and then neuter it. More of a strongish bland Pale Ale with a hint of pineapple juice. Drinkable, but certainly not that imrpessive.

Light pineapple aroma golden brown appearance. Sweet hint of pineapple flavor, hops in the background, and a clean finish. Underwhelming.

Crisp and clear light amber coloured body with a copper glow and a thin, one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of malt, rice, grain, alcohol, light hops and a hint of pineapple - not much at all though. Medium-bodied; Assertive grain flavours with the alcohol coming through and not much hops nor tropical fruit flavours. Aftertaste shows more bitterness from earthy malt with not much else going on - perhaps a touch of light hops from england or europe - but nothing strong. Overall, a pretty sedate and underwhelming beer with no really hoppiness nor tropical fruit flavours at all - pretty boring. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 03-May-2014 for US$1.66 sampled at home in Washington on 27-July-2014 as my last day of unemployment (of two).

Not enough hops for an IPA, not enough fruit for a fruit beer, not interesting enough to drink more than one.

The aroma is actually quite subtly hopped for an IPA with malt to balance but no hint of pineapple. The appearance is golden with with a thick head. The taste is like the aroma with a fruity quality but not clear that itís pineapple. The palate is typical for the style. Overall very easy to drink IPA.

Bought a six pack of the long shot winners. Was pretty skeptical about this one but somebody had to drink it. It turned out to be OK. It was not hop forward contrary to the description. It was mild and did have a fruity floral taste. Doubt Sam Adams puts it in the regular rotation.

Hmm, not really an IPA and I certainly donít get any pineapple. Itís a drinkable amber beer, pale at best, but definitely falls flat for what was promised.

~Piney woodsy citrusy hop aroma with some fruitiness and bread hops ~Pours a clear copper color with small bubbly white head. ~Pineapple ones out more in the flavor with bread malts, piney grapefruit hops. ~Medium bodied with medium CO2, strange and not so pleasant aftertaste. ~Not really a fan of this one. The funky aftertaste ruins the whole beer

Clear amber color with ivory head. Mild pineapple, dank, spicy, pale malt aromas. Medium bodied. Sweet pale malt, pineapple juice flavors with some pine hop bitterness___nice juicy sweet flavors but not really IPA.
