COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first of this year’s winners, Dave Anderson, works in the packaging department at Sam Adams. His submission, a Strawberry Lager, is described as “a bright and fresh wheat beer, with a strong strawberry character balanced with toffee and citrus notes – the brewer’s vision of the perfect summertime beer to enjoy after a round of golf on a hot day. Brewed with fresh strawberries, this beer pours a bright golden color and imparts a malty sweetness with hints of lemon and earthiness. Strawberry Lager finishes with a wonderful intensive strawberry flavor without being overwhelming and leaves a lingering creamy sweetness on the palate.”

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Strong strawberry aroma with a touch of honey. Taste reminds me of strawberry fresca. Easy drinking, best of three longshot beers.

Bottle in KC, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a fairly clear golden appearance with an off white head. Honestly, this really smells like really fresh strawberry or strawberry crisp. Smells exactly like fresh strawberries. Very nice. A bit citrusy, wheat malty, strawberry dessert flavor. Strawberry? yes. Lager? huh? Probably an 8.5/10.0 on a beer bongable scale.

Bottle. Golden beer with a whitish head. Strawberry and malt aroma. Strawberry and hay flavor with light spice. Medium bodied. Hay and light earth lingers with strawberry and light spice.

Better than expected, for a strawberry beer. I don’t feel that it needed the extra punch that they added after brewing. It brings the fruit up a notch or two, sure, but it makes me glad that I only had two bottles of it in the pack.

It's a clean tasting beer with a strong aroma and taste of strawberry jam. No hops at all and with a mild malt. Clean and ideal for summer days ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden body, thin white head, spotty lacing. Strawberry jolly ranchers, not much else. Medium to light bodied, semi sweet. Not quite beer.

Strawberry aroma. Cloudy golden with a red hue. Small white head. Sweet strawberry beginning that lingers to the finish. Light palate.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of bread, light strawberry and a hint oif citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread and light strawberry with a smooth finish. Drinkable but overall a pretty lame beer better suited to Inbud!

Wow...not a fan. It is like drinking a Cap’n Crunch Crunch berries. It has a light strawberry smell. Light copper color. Tastes like a bowl of crunch berries in a light lager. The aftertaste even makes me believe it more. Not a pleasant mouth feel. There might be a market for this, but I am not it.
