Commercial Description:
2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

Pours a dark reddish brown. No head, even with an aggressive pour. Light aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is very nice with sweet malts and dried sweet fruits. Sweetness and complexity were more apparent as the beer warmed. Medium finish with a moderate alcohol burn. Nice beer.

12oz bottle–pours a foamy tan head and dark copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel/molasses, plum. Taste is medium malt-caramel/molasses, plum, spice/metallic. Nice DB aroma, taste not so much. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing.

Pours a dark brown color with a small white head, little to no lacing, decent amount of carbonation. Aroma is sour fruit, corn, malts, and caramel. The taste has a little bit of chocolate, a sour slightly bitter fruit taste, and sourdough bread.

Pours a really nice ruby brown color with a thin short-lived off white head. Aroma is malt, some dark fruit, a bit of bread and hazelnut maybe. Flavor is more of the same. A lot of different nice notes in there with kind of a funny sharp hint at the back. Nice beer and very drinkable.

Part of the Longshot 6 pack. An enjoyable, albeit a bit boring beer. Perhaps I’m just not familiar enough with the bock style of beer. Either way, I did enjoy it. The beer pours out a nice dark amber color, clear with a light tan 1" foamy head. Aroma is pretty average with light toasted malts, caramel, a touch of honey and fruit. I didn’t get any plum or cherry aromas as the description suggests. I did get some light toasted malt, a bit of iced tea, roasted nuts and light cereal. A clean finish and after drinking the bottle, I really didn’t think another one was a good idea.

Good bock, part of the mixed 6 pack. Pours light brown with lots of head. Creamy mouthfeel, bang on the style. Drinkable and balanced.

Aroma is chestnuts and honey with a vinegar and rubber taint. Dark copper brown, very clear, medium yellow head. Medium body and highly carbonated, but the flavor is not very strong. It tastes weakly of marzipan and plums with some mossy notes. Chestnut finish. Alcohol is undetectable. Easily drinkable and best when warm.

THOUGHTS: Nice Not very complex, but very nice, although it did become cloying after a while. It was like having toast and jam with tea. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark, slightly brownish red that you could call mahogany that was bright red in the light with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate, bread, toast, nuts and caramel, slight citrus and some alcohol. The initial flavor was sweet, slightly acidic and a little bitter; while the finish was very sweet, slightly sour and bitter with an average to long duration. There was caramel, toast, tea, fruit, berry, citrus, nuts, toffee, a little toasted malt and slight hops. The medium body was syrupy and oily then dry with tingly carbonation and a light to moderate astringent and dry finish.
