3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark pour with a light creamy head. The aroma is much like its name, nutty with a taste of maple syrup. Initial flavor is roasted and nutty with a sweet finish from the syrup. Medium body, the flavor is a little too sweet for my liking for a porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep black with ruby highlights and a 1-finger tan head. Aroma is pecan pie and maple syrup/pancakes. Taste is fairly typical porter with some dark nuts, coffee, and maple hints... nowhere near as overpowering as the aroma. Sweet and *almost* bitter finish. Nice thick mouthfeel, but not too syrupy. This is an interesting dessert beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location/Date:Bottle on 3/2/2013.
Appearance: Pours a dark caramel.
Aroma: Aroma of maple syrup, light pecan.
Taste: Light roast, sweet from maple, some pecan, faint chocolate.
Palate:Medium body, flat carbonation, short finish.
Summary: Not a bad porter, but the amount of different flavors muddles it a little bit.

A bit on the syrupy side, but I guess that’s to be expected from the name and deScription. Tasty stuff, though, just a bit like artificial pecan sweetener you’d put in coffee or something.

Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany with an aroma of maple syrup, pecan, light caramel, roasted hazlenut, and Coke. Flavor is a rush of soda-infused maple and pecan with a finish of sweet nuts, roasted carmel, and a small soda biscuit. Decent mouthfeel. Tasty. I’d have another.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a reddish brown cola color with a little white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is porter spice and some sweetness and maple. Taste is pretty typical for a porter, very little roast and some maple comes through. A little bit of nuttiness from the pecan. Medium body.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep brown almost black with minimal tan head that laces well. Aroma is of maple and pecan with sweet caramel and bit of coffee. Pronounced sweet malt flavor with a hint of bitter coffee. A bit of a weak body though. Finishes sweet and nutty. I do love a refreshing Sam Adams

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thick tan head leaves heavy lacing down the glass. Strong maple syrup aroma. Tastes chocolatey and coffee. Hard to taste any nut or pecan flavor. Has a relatively dry finish. Very easy to drink with excellent mouth feel.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2013 12oz bottle from spring variety pack. Poured into English pint glass, reddish dark brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma of maple syrup, brown sugar, pecans, bread and caramel malt. Taste is the aroma adding some chocolate sweetness, light coffee, nuttiness and a hint of vanilla. Thick body, rich, creamy, oily and sticky. Much better beer then I expected, with SA’s flavored beers you never know.
