3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bit of a surprise. Assumed the maple would dominate but it's the pecans that jump out. Coffee notes of course but the maple is underneath it all pretty well balanced. Better than anticipated

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Got at Krogers on Broadway with the seasonal 12-Pack.
Dark Brown. Long, tan head. Aroma: Maple syrup, malt. Flavor: Maple dominates, chocolate with Pecan backing. Nutty finish. It shocked me with flavor the second it hit my mouth. I never had a beer with breakfast but this or a Rauchbier would be my choice if I was to do so. This may be the most unique Sam I have ever had.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown with ruby accents and clear, so-so head, lace is ok.
Aroma is precisely as advertised, maple and pecans, plus roasty and toasty malts, quite porter-like.
Taste is a bit less impressive, but is pleasant nonetheless. The maple is prominent, the pecans less so than in the aroma, but still there, plenty of roasted malts, sweet brown sugar, some chocolate sweetness, not a lot of hops.
Feel is a bit syrupy, lingering sweetness and roasted malts, a little maple.
Overall it’s good, but gimmicky. Sam Adams best beers tend to be more simplistic and straightforward. A good sampler pack selection tho.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Tried this in the Sam Adams Spring Thaw Variety Pack. Out of six varieties, this was definitely the stand out. I expected it to be too sweet, but I was happily proven wrong.
p.s. The posted alcohol percentage is incorrect. Its actualy 6.5%.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reddish-brown pour with a lightly, tan head. The standout aroma is coffee, but it also has some nut, dark chocolate, mild caramel. It has a medium body with a creamy and slightly sticky texture. The taste is very sweet, but then is finished with some slightly roasted nut flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with a crimson hue and it has a soapy tan head. The aroma has lots of maple, pecans, smooth roast, chocolate, cream and butteriness - good. It has a smooth lush body with mild carbonation. The flavor starts out with plenty of the maple and pecan stated by the name. Also, some cocoa, spice and clean smooth roast are there. The finish is a bit drier and has more spice and a bit of vanilla. Good porter.

12oz bottle, Spring Thaw Variety Pack, 2013, mixed 12pk. Dark brown color, beige froath. Decent lace. Maple scent, deep nose of nutty pecans, roasted malts, smells sweet. Tastes of pecans, nutty character on top of roasted malts. Very creamy texture. Interesting. (3587)

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
A smooth and quite sweet porter. Very heavy on the maple and pecan notes and less focus on the classic porter roastiness you would expect.
