Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

12oz bottle. A rich and sweet in your face maple caramel porter. Toasted pecan character shines through. A really enjoyable dessert beer, but way too sweet and one dimensional to session on. A cool one for the mix pack a dumbed down version of what the craft beer industry is capable of, not one I’d revisit.

Bottle: Strong aroma of roast, smoke, earthy, nutty, and a little chocolate. Really a great smell. The sweetness of the maple comes through in the flavor, along with roasty and nutty notes. The sweet and the smoke gets a little funky in the tail, but overall I enjoyed this.

Ah, this was the one that I was waiting for in the mixpack -- perhaps there is some redemption for maple beer after the Rogue Voodoo Doughnut disaster of ’12. Toasted coconut porter aroma with whiffs of maple/vanilla. Bad label, deep cola black. Coffee upfront, nutty, mellow sweetness, crispy bitterness, maple is subtle. Roasty, nutty aftertaste with cocoa bitterness, sessionweight body. An enjoyable pint. Publix.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is all things roasted nuts. Some roasted malt also shows up. Flavor at first is a decent roasted malt but the real flavor comes after the swallow. A very nice maple syurp with a big roast and some chocolate. This was a soild porter with a nice suprise intense maple flavor left on the tounge.

Very creative and unique, not just for Samuel Adams, but for any brewery out there. Good job!

Overwhelmingly coffee and roasted malt notes bombard you from the first sip. As it sits a,moment in your mouth, caramel and toffee notes come through. Maybe a little bit of pecan. It?s not bad, but it could use a bit of a tweak to the recipe. Tone down the coffee and the sweetness and add more hops maybe? Some cranberry wouldn?t be bad in this. Maybe I just shouldn’t have drunken this back to back with that salt water Magic Hat beer.

Fresh bottle by JUN 2013. Nose lightly of roast with some tar and a hint of ash in there, some burnt notes and perhaps licorice. Dark brown looks black enough, tannish head. Taste sweet with roast and faint coffee, syrupy sugar on the sides, there is a hint of nuts there but it’s more like they’ve been glazed in sugar solution and caramelized over heat. Lightly fruity, very crsip full body, very low bitterness and no signs of hops. This is a lot like a lot of the sweeter East German Schwarzbiere but without the lagery body.

Dark brown pour with an awesome maple syrup, nutty and roasted malt nose. Taste isn’t nearly as good as the smell. Roasted malts and hops with a clean finish.

Pours a clear dark amber brown with large chunky tan head and nice lacing. Smell is roast, sweet caramel, maple. Taste is smooth sweet malts and maple that is well integrated. I get the nuttiness on the backend. I actually liked this one and thought the sweetness was just in check.
