Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

Aroma is toffee, nutty, licorice, coffee. Appearance is dark mahogany almost black w small off white head. Taste is sweet malt, nutty, coffee, chocolate, maple, light roast. Very little hop bitterness. Palate is medium. Fairly smooth.Overall not bad. I could use a bit more roast and hop bitterness, it is a bit cloying now.

Appearance has a dark ruby brown color supporting a thin dissipating head leaving fair lace. Smell of maple, coffee and dark caramel malts. Taste has the dark malts, flavor of coffee and syrup with a nice balance of hops. mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Overall a nice twist on a good porter.

Uh oh, this one’s trouble. I smell dark chocolate, coffee, a little cream, just a touch of dark fruits, slight char, and pecan flippin’ pie! This Georgia boy is happy. Tastes are typical, yet powerful, Porter flavors of dark chocolate and coffee up front. Midway, the Pecan Pie pops out pretty aggressively and is followed by a little bit of smokiness, dark fruits, and light dark chocolate bitterness. Excellent balance. If you love Porters and have a sweet tooth, this one is for you. This would never leave my refrigerator if it were available in 6 packs.

Bottled. Poured clear, deeper garnet with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up sweet maple and nutty notes, with accents of salt and molasses.. lightly detergenty. The flavor found a heavy dose of maple throughout, with prickly roasty notes, charred earth, and nutty notes around.. finished a touch scratchy, with residual roast and bitterness. Medium-bodied and slow-ish through the palate.. filling carbonation.. OK feel. This was aiight.

Bottle. Heavy malt aroma of toasted, light herbs for the hops, and dough for the yeast, with obvious pecan and maple syrup in the background. Head is avreage size, frothy, tan with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet. Palate is medium, watery with a lively cabonation. This Porter starts with a distinct smell which is fairly plaesant, then finishes with an artificially sweet taste.

a well done maple flavored brew. you get the satisfaction of drinking a nicely made porter infused with a little coffee slightly ashy and sweet with just the right amount of maple (which can be fucked up easily) slightly nutty ans satisfying with a pleasant abv that hits you just right. Bravo!

From my in laws. A: Dark mahogany with low visibility. Good puffy cappuccino head. Lacing. N: char, roast coffee, maple, biscuit, grain and baker’s chocolate. Burnt brown sugar. Pecan. T: Roasty bitterness and a balancing sweetness. M: Touch watery, medium body. No alcohol. O: Pleasant porter. Maple and pecan come through on varying levels. Wish this had a touch more body, but compares favorably to Black Butte.
