Bottled. Poured clear, deeper garnet with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up sweet maple and nutty notes, with accents of salt and molasses.. lightly detergenty. The flavor found a heavy dose of maple throughout, with prickly roasty notes, charred earth, and nutty notes around.. finished a touch scratchy, with residual roast and bitterness. Medium-bodied and slow-ish through the palate.. filling carbonation.. OK feel. This was aiight.

From my in laws.
A: Dark mahogany with low visibility. Good puffy cappuccino head. Lacing.
N: char, roast coffee, maple, biscuit, grain and baker’s chocolate. Burnt brown sugar. Pecan.
T: Roasty bitterness and a balancing sweetness.
M: Touch watery, medium body. No alcohol.
O: Pleasant porter. Maple and pecan come through on varying levels. Wish this had a touch more body, but compares favorably to Black Butte.

Poured from a 12oz bottle.
Aroma is full of rich chocolate and toast notes with a medium nuttiness that works well with the sweet chocolate. Light maple character. Low dark fruit esters.
Pours a nice dark down with light brown and burnt amber hues. Moderately thick, light tan head with pretty decent retention. Moderate lacing and small legs.
Flavor has a medium light sweetness with light chocolate and faint roast notes. Faint coffee and maple notes with medium to medium strong nuttiness. Light bitterness with light dark fruit esters. Medium light caramel and toffee. Some lingering toffee, caramel and chocolate.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Medium light stickiness in the finish.
Overall an alright beer with a lot of pecan character, but it feels like it is missing a bit of its base porter character. The maple syrup notes are light, but I think that is probably a good thing. Clean fermentation without much ester character.

From bottle. Aroma of caramel and maple syrup. Flavour of dark malts and sweetness. Finish is sweet and thick.

Solid medium brown that is translucent around the edges, one-finger foamy tan head and nice lace. Roasted malt and coffee aromas up front are quickly replaced by maple syrup and honey. Syrupy, almost molasses-like sweetness on the palate with generous pecan notes. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, lively carbonation and a lingering caramel sweetness in the finish. The description "reeks of New England" is perfect.

Samuel Adams Maple Pecan Porter lacks overall balance. Not much aroma coming from this dark brown pour with a decent head. Taste is buttery and a little chocolaty with a little bit of a sweet aftertaste. There wasn’t much malt character that one would expect in a porter. Maple Pecan Porter isn’t bad but average overall.

I’m not a huge fan of this. Maple syrup doesn’t add the best of elements for me - I don’t necessarily appreciate the overdose of syrupy sweetness here. Some roast malt aroma as well but there isn’t a whole lot of balance here. Bottle.

Sorry but this beer is just not that good. I know it's "cool" to like these exotic flavors and such, and I do like quite a few but this is overpoweringly sweet and over carbonated.

Botella de 355ml. Vaso Nonic. Brota con color marrón oscuro y tintes caoba a contraluz. La espuma bronceada deja, al disiparse, una fina capa en la superficie y algunos encajes en las paredes. Aromas de maltas dulces y torrefactas, notas de malta caramelo, trazos de sirope y frutos secos con matices de café y chocolate. El perfil de sabor es el esperado por los aromas y despliega notas de caramelo y torrefactas, infusión de café y chocolate con un toque herbal de dulce sirope. Cuerpo medio y carbonatación moderada. Paladar sedoso y sensación reseca. Según se atempera, el jarabe de arce se incrementa y permanece en el dulce final complementado por una ascendente sensación de frutos secos. El tono dulzón es casi empalagoso pero las leves notas torrefactas y de fruto seco lo mantienen a raya. Una interesante Porter que hace añorar un Pecan Pie caliente!!
355ml bottle. Nonic glass. Pours dark brown in color, with mahogany tints to the light. Tan head leaves a thin layer on top as dissipates. Some lacings are left. Aromas of sweet roasted malts, caramel notes, hints of syrup & dried nuts as well as coffee & chocolate hues. Flavor profile -as expected from aromas- displays caramel & roasted notes, chocolate & coffee infusion touched by herbal sweet syrup. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky palate & dried mouthfeel. As it warms, maple syrup increases & lingers into a sweet finish in combination with arising dried nut sensations. Sweetness reaches the edge of cloying but slightly roasted notes & nuttiness hold it back. Interesting Porter that makes me miss a hot Pecan Pie!!
