Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

From bottle. Amazing aroma that reminds me of pecans baking in brown sugar. The sweetness and bite are balanced well. I went into this beer with low expectations and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Good beer to mix into the night but not one that would be a "main" beer of the night.

Bottle. Roasty pecan, light maple, and chocolate/coffee aroma. Deep mahogany with a large beige head. Roasty coffee, astringent nuts, and very light maple flavor. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation.

Smell of maple and spice. Taste of maple but not overpowering. Pretty smooth going down, not to carbonated. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. Deep brown with small head. Exactly what it says it is. Strong aroma of maple and pecan. Flavors almost equally pronounced. Solid, but there doesnít seem to be much underneath the very pleasant maple and pecan.

Pours out looking ok, deep brown with a slight purple tinge and only a slight tan head. It smells like dessert, lots of chocolate and maple with a bit of coffee. Really interesting flavor, smoky malts up against a lot of sweetness. I donít really get much pecan out of this, maybe a hint in the aftertaste. Fairly thick, maybe a little harsh on the carbonation. Overall this is a good addition to the Sam Adams spring variety pack. Itís not exactly a traditional porter but still quite tasty, especially as dessert after a meal.

Maple Pecan Porter. Thatís quite a name, isnít it? "Pecan" isnít particularly surprising since many porters advertise their inherent nuttiness. Maple, though? Frankly, I wasnít sure that Samuel Adams was going to pull off that combination. But they did, and itís awesome. This ale isnít very heady and has the brownish-black body of a porter, but it has a slight amber hue. Aroma has the expected roasted malt smell, but with a brilliant maple scent that is just plain mouthwatering. In this porter, the taste of coffee, though present, takes a backseat to syrupy sweetness, rich chocolate, and subtle nuttiness. Itís something different from the usual porter, and in this case, thatís a great thing. Samuel Adams makes some solid dark beers, but this one stands out as one of the best.

Intense maple nose over standard porter n describes taste as well, with some pecan thrown in.good idea and flavors compliment each other but the maple needs to be toned down by about half.
