Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

Bottle. Medium brown with a tan head. Aroma is sweet nutty chocolate and male cookies. So sweet, I dreaded the first sip, fearing extract flavours. But happily I was wrong. This is certainly a sweet porter, but in a balanced way, with dry roast in good proportion to the maple and nut flavours. Very nice actually. On a side note-- I recall being put off by the aroma of Sam Adams’ Cherry Wheat, but being similarly surprised at the balanced palate. These guys know what they’re doing.

Bottle at my friends wedding. Aroma is some light maple syrup notes, sweet malts, some light nutty and toasty notes. Flavor was sweet maple, coffee, molasses notes. Malts. Pecan notes. I want to knock it, but it really wasn’t that bad at all.

This porter is pretty good. Taste is caramel and roasted malts. I do not detect much maple in this brew but the pour is a nice dark color.

Poured from bottle. Maple and pecan dominate aroma, with a hint of licorice. Dark mahogany with tan head. Flavors of burnt malt and root beer with the maple and porter in back. Thankfully the maple porter is not overwhelming. Hints of coffee and brownie as well. Pretty good.

Big maple aroma and taste with faint roasted malt and nuttiness. First swig was great but the cloying sweetness was overwhelming by the end.

Bottle into a nonic pint. Pours a crystal clear brown with a tan head. Smells of roasty malts with a hint of maple. Medium mouthfeel. Tastes of sweet malt, with earthy nuts on the front end and maple on the back, but with a bit of an off finish. Pretty good porter.

Poured black with a dark cream head. Smell is lightly sweet maple and coffee. Taste is coffee with maple hovering around the tongue never fully committing. A little malty with a molasses flavor, the pecan flavor is not very noticeable. The consistency is creamy. Really good beer.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a non transparent light black with visible through and through with dark maroon shading when held to a light source, creamy tan head roughly 2mm thick atop the liquid surface that laced nicely. Aroma of midgrade coffee, some maple, and some maple. Hits the mouth with a high medium, maple tastes kinda burnt, malt is firm, nutty sensations in the middle finishing with some cream and a slight note of molasses. Ok.
