Samuel Adams is bringing you Maple Pecan Porter. A nutty syrupy porter that just reeks of New England.
Sweet New England maple syrup and a distinct pecan note define this balanced porter. The roasted character of our blend of malts complements the maple sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Reddish-black in color, this full-bodied brew has a sweet and slightly nutty finish.

This is a great tasting beer. You can really taste the carmel notes in the beer while you drink it. The aroma had notes of the pecan and maple in it. Really great beer and I wish they would put it in a six pack for fall.

Bottle:   Deep brown, strong burgundy hues, thin to moderate frothy light beige head, spotty lacing.   Roasted malt nose, faint maple syrup and perhaps pecans.   Sweet on the tongue, pecans are more noticeable here.   Roast malts arenít as strong.   More maple syrup as it warms.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes sweet, nutty, with maple syrup and candied pecans.   Needs to actually have a bit more bitterness to counteract the sweetness.   As is, not bad.   On the sweet side for sure.   Enjoyable, but bring me more of that roasted bitterness and then this would be exceptional!

Amazing combination of sweet maple and pecan flavor that goes down smooth.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown almost black with a light tan head, good lacing. Smells of syrup caramel, roasted nuts and malts. Taste is very sweet, slightly nutty, notes of caramel chocolate and molasses. A roasty smokiness in the finish. Mouth feel is medium to thick, good for the style. This one and the IPL definitely highlight their Spring Thaw Variety Pack.

Pailhead (4413) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUL 7, 2013
Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate maple syrup, light smoke, roast, and faint pecans/nuts. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange transparency. It has a one finger khaki head that quickly fades to a thin film and leaves behind some thin webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a combination of light-moderate maple syrup, chocolate, and caramel. The finish has light-moderate roast, some light nuttiness from the pecans, and just a hint of smoke. Itís medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, itís a solid Porter, but itís not as good as I was hoping...nor as sweet as I had feared.

This Sam Adams beer is very nutty and full bodied. It is loaded with flavor and feels like you are drinking a meal. A nice beer and a good addition to a full collection of beers.

Definitely an aroma of maple and pecan. The appearance seemed a bit light for a porter. Medium body with a slight bitterness. Overall a nice beer during the winter for me.

Bierkrug (2108) - Garmisch-Partenkirchen (In USA), Bavaria, GERMANY - JUN 27, 2013
330 ml bottle in New York, USA. It pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma is light roast, maple, some pecans and a touch of vanilla. The taste was pretty much the same with roastiness and some maple added. It had a subtle pecan flavor and was thin on the palate as well. OK

pours a very dark brown almost black, aroma is straight up maple syrup. cocoa, and pecan. really defined by the syrup. the flavor is the same as it smells, maple syrup through out, with chocolate, and roasted malts, finishes with pecan then maple syrup again. for what it sounds like this is a pretty good beer. the palate is medium to a lighter heavy.. I would recommend it for a winter style beer.

Bottle from Zac. This started with a nice base porter that was not covered up by the flavor additions. Nice bits of coffee plus some nuttiness. Maybe a hint of metal in the middle but nice overall and nice ABV.
