This is a great tasting beer. You can really taste the carmel notes in the beer while you drink it. The aroma had notes of the pecan and maple in it. Really great beer and I wish they would put it in a six pack for fall.

One of the finest brews Iíve had in a long time. Great nose, even better finish with the pecan, the maple flavor was just right, not overpowering. Winner of 1st place overall at our "Beer Fest II" sampling party in February.

This beer is my all time favorite Sam Adams beer. I was highly disappointed to find out it has been discontinued for the time being. It is a nice light beer with just enough maple and pecan flavor.

Bottle. Sweet, syrupy aroma. Average carbonation. Deep reddish brown color. Sweet, syrupy caramel porter flavor. Bitter finish. Definitely a dessert beer. About as good as it gets for a bottle porter.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Maple Pecan Porter. Thatís quite a name, isnít it? "Pecan" isnít particularly surprising since many porters advertise their inherent nuttiness. Maple, though? Frankly, I wasnít sure that Samuel Adams was going to pull off that combination. But they did, and itís awesome. This ale isnít very heady and has the brownish-black body of a porter, but it has a slight amber hue. Aroma has the expected roasted malt smell, but with a brilliant maple scent that is just plain mouthwatering. In this porter, the taste of coffee, though present, takes a backseat to syrupy sweetness, rich chocolate, and subtle nuttiness. Itís something different from the usual porter, and in this case, thatís a great thing. Samuel Adams makes some solid dark beers, but this one stands out as one of the best.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep dark porter color. Aroma is swer and dry nuts, almost salty. Flavor is at first a sweet sasparilla root beer followed by a cool blueberry, finishing with a big warming molasses flavor. Very dynamic and surpringly fantastic.

Got at Krogers on Broadway with the seasonal 12-Pack.
Dark Brown. Long, tan head. Aroma: Maple syrup, malt. Flavor: Maple dominates, chocolate with Pecan backing. Nutty finish. It shocked me with flavor the second it hit my mouth. I never had a beer with breakfast but this or a Rauchbier would be my choice if I was to do so. This may be the most unique Sam I have ever had.

Dark brown with a Brown Head. Smell has a strong aroma of maple, nuts, roasted malts and some chocolate. The flavor has some surprisingly strong maple and roasted malt notes, followed by chocolate and coffee. Body is pretty light and the carbonation is as well; Very creamy body. Great Porter overall!
