3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber poured into imperial pint. Easy on the eyes! Dark black in color, nearly opaque but not quite, big marshmallow-y tan head. Good aroma with very present spiciness - clove, ginger, cinnamon - flanked by a little roasted malt and leather. Taste is interesting. The spices keep on a’comin’ and somewhat dominate the flavor. There is a nice, creamy lactose sweetness in the middle before a sticky, spice-dominated finish where the warming alcohol shines through. A good beer for sure, what’s there is very well done and a good representation of gingerbread, just would’ve liked to have seen more dark, roasty malt tones to balance out the sweetness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Three 4.0’s in a row. This pours dark brown/black with a tan head. The aroma does evoke gingerbread. Mostly winter spices, cinnamon, clove etc. The flavor has the spices over a big malt profile. Lots of wood and a hint of smoke. As much as you’d like to hate Sam Adams, they continue to put out great beers. Yeah, I know they are huge but they haven’t sold out yet.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opaque black with a little bit of ruby red only on the edge under a bright light and dense brown head. Aromas of dark roast coffee, wood and light spices. The creaminess of the body is immediately noticeable followed by a bittersweet chocolate and espresso taste. The ginger and cinnamon really stand out, but they’re not over done. Some fig, date and dark cherry flavors show up too. There’s some definite hop bitterness in the background that is also well balanced with everything else going on here. With this much going on, this is a surprisingly balanced and easy to drink beer. Finishes with chocolate and a vegetal component. Sam Adams doesn’t always make the most interesting or extreme beers, but this one is very interesting and well done. An excellent winter warmer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bomber poured into a shaker. Pours a dark brown, almost black with about a finger of nut brown head. Aroma is pretty close to a gingerbread cookie. Clove and cinnamon with a good bit of bready yeast. Taste is loads of coffee, clove, nutmeg and bready yeast. I don’t get as much gingerbread here as I did in the aroma. Full bodied with a thick, sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, very good. I’ll be drinking this again over the winter for sure.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour is a dark, head is nice and creamy. Smell is of course ginger snaps and very little else. Not a big feel for the abv claimed. Tart creamy finish. Not bad, but could be better

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I don't generally care for the overly spiced beers, but this one whets my whistle. The aroma is strongly of gingerbread, cinnamon, and cloves. Pours a dark brown, nearly black. Very sweet, with coffee and roast notes in it.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark black pour with thick head. Smooth taste, cinnamon and gingerbread. Different for sure. Not much bite, was expecting more...then again I’m really not a gingerbread fan.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is much like a bag of ginger snap. More spices then malts in this stout and very smooth after taste that has almost no bitterness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
POured a very dark brown with a hint of orange highlights around the edges of the glass. There was a 2 finger creamy brownish head. The aroma was the holidays, plenty of gingerbread, nutmeg, cloves and egg nog. The initial flavor is a nice one of alcohol like egg nog. Coming out are flavors of gingerbread, molasses and the aroma flavors of nutmeg and cloves. A nice alcohol warmth develops in the middle and leads to a mellow finish with a good long last warmth. Another excellent beer!!!!!!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance was clear reddish black with creamy diminishing tannish 1/2 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are of spicey winter brew ie; cinaminain, nutmeg, clove, ginger, sweet honey, chocolate, caramel, crystal, 2-row malts. Taste are sweet, chocolate, toffee, candi, coffee malts, then spicey ginger, nutmeg and cinamiain, herbal hints of hops. No alcohol present. Palate was soft creamy CO2 with meduim-full body, then smooth average length spicey malty clean finish. A welcome addition to sam adams lineup...
