COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich dark gingerbread stout entices with the aromas of the holidays. The flavor of gingerbread comes alive, beginning with the smooth sweetness and heartiness of dark roasted malts and a touch of wheat. But it’s the intensity and spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, & ginger that add a wicked kick for a jolly playful brew full of merry mischief.

This beer pours black with a tall tan head. The aroma is cinnamon and gingerbread cookie dough. The taste is malty sweet with cinnamon and nutmeg. The roastiness provides a nice finish. Overall, an interesting and tasty beer which is very like raw gingerbread dough prior to being baked.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention pancakes and recedes to mottle surface. Nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger aromas. Medium bodied with dark caramel and ginger upfront turning to chocolate and cinnamon in the lasting wintery spice finish.

pours black, with milk chocolate color thick head. Earthy cinnamon and spices nose. I’d hoped for a more distinct aroma. Medium thick body, the spices show nicely on the flavor, a hint of heat from the spices. A decent offering.

22 oz. bottle poure into a glass. Pours a deep black color, didn’t see any light pass through the glass. Thick tan head which settled to a thin film. Sweet malt aroma with some ginger and orange peel maybe? Reminiscent of a spiced holiday ale. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel, sticky. Tastes like your average stout with extra spices. Smooth warming finish. I will be getting another one (or two) for when it gets cold. If it gets cold that is. Recommended!

Type: 22-oz. bomber Glass: Karl Strauss pint From: Costco in San Marcos, Calif., on Dec. 6, 2012 Price: $20 for Small Batch Collection variety 4-pack BOD: None, “Batch 1” on back of label Black with 2-3 fingers of tan head. Sporadic and bad lacing. Below average retention and was gone within 7-8 minutes. Smelled Fire Balls, Ginger Ale, nutmeg, cinnamon, gingerbread and a tad bit of honey. Tasted a lot of those smells but with a bit of a butter cheesy feel. Got nutmeg, cinnamon, butter, cheese and gingerbread. Definitely a huge artificial taste. Medium body. Oily texture. Soft (Below average)-to-average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Really not a fan of this beer at all. The smell was the best part and then it just took a drastic turn.
