This rich dark gingerbread stout entices with the aromas of the holidays. The flavor of gingerbread comes alive, beginning with the smooth sweetness and heartiness of dark roasted malts and a touch of wheat. But itís the intensity and spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, & ginger that add a wicked kick for a jolly playful brew full of merry mischief.

bottle. oily black pour with a small, stable, brown head. a pumpkin beer array of spices with a roasted malt profile aroma. the stout underneath the spice addition is moderately sweet with lots of bitter roast and sweet chocolates. a bit of breadiness. a balanced stout regarding roasty and chocolaty. spices are quite potent, but acceptable, with the typical pumpkin-like beer addition. full bodied, inky, oily, proper carbo. this is great. SA really hit a homerun with this series.

I greatly admire the execution of this beer, but it isnít for me. While all the spices make for a magnificent aroma, the gingerbread flavor didnít quite work with the roasted malt taste. Not for me, anyway. I suspect a lot of people might like the combination of rich malt and holiday flavors. Appearance was quite good, and the balance works nicely. The 9% ABV is well-hidden beneath the body. And did I mention the smell is fantastic? It really is like a holiday potpourri.

Very dark in color with a definite aroma of gingerbread and other "holiday spices". Great gingerbread roasted malt taste. Very much enjoyed.

Poured from the bottle into a glass. Aroma consists of ginger, brown sugar, nuts, and yeast. The taste focuses too much on the ginger, it ends up becoming a ginger bomb. Medium body with a moderate amount of carbonation and a sticky mouth feel. Meh

On tap at the Yard House in Portland. Aroma is boozy and bready. Flavor is definitely a sweet gingerbread flavor. Has a bit of a stale licorice taste to it. Feels a bit chalky.

Bomber from Wilburís. Appearance: finger dark brown to copper head, dark brown, opaque, Aroma: ginger, chocolate, spicey hops, malt. Palate: full body, average carbonation, creamy texture, light lingering ginger taste. Taste: sweet malt and chocolate, into a gingersnap cookie sweetness, with just enough of a hop backbone to balance it out, finish is ginger spice. Overall, very nice balance, lovely seasonal, ginger is amazing in this beer.

Sample @ Bier Baron. Deep brown with a small head. Aroma of chocolate and ginger snap cookie. Strong ginger. Brown sugar. Flavor is a little more nuanced than the frankly blunt aroma suggests. Mellow coffee and roasted pepper. Caramel wafers. Slightly spicy peppered ginger finish. Medium body, soft carb.

Bottle. Inky black with large spongy tan head, aroma not so prominent, low carbonation, slightly sweet roasted malt taste with nutmeg, caramel, ginger and clove flavors, long finish with mocha aftertaste. Quite sweet, leaves a sticky feeling on your lips. Interesting concoction!

Clove and chocolate aromas. Appearance is jet black with an average sized brown head. Flavor has notes of cloves and ginger. No heat from the ginger. Smooth roast character with notes of chocolate. Hop bitterness is medium. Balance is slightly towards the bitter side. Mouthfeel is medium light. Overall, it's descent beer. Could use more body and ginger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep brown color with a distinct ginger spice aroma. Taste is a rich malr flavor with a sweet gingerbread cookie flavor. Roasted malt is evident and a good mix with the mild gingerbread and cinnamon flavor.
