COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rich dark gingerbread stout entices with the aromas of the holidays. The flavor of gingerbread comes alive, beginning with the smooth sweetness and heartiness of dark roasted malts and a touch of wheat. But itís the intensity and spices of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, & ginger that add a wicked kick for a jolly playful brew full of merry mischief.

Bottled. Poured deep brown with a well-retained smoked beige head. The aroma picked up bright cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and anise over a good blend of chocolates and rye bread.. spice-heavy, but enjoyable. The flavor found tart spices on the tip of the tongue (ginger, cloves, and cinnamon more than anything else), with gingerbread and chocolate supporting.. finished with a good blend of tart wintery spices and sweet, tasty malts. Medium-bodied and quite spicy on the palate.. good stuff.

Had this as Merry Mischief Gingerbread Stout last time it was out. The bottle pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of dark roasted malts, chocolate, ginger, graham cracker and wintery spiciness. The taste is pretty big and rich with plenty of cinnamon and ginger and nutmeg and cloves to create a wintery cinnamon graham cracker to ginger snap cookie like sensation that rides on top of murmurs of roasted malts, sweet malts and chocolate. Pretty nice.

On tap @ Public House in Vegas. Dark brown stout appearance. Aroma is equally sweetly spicy and smokey-- quite surprising. Surprising malty depth to the palate: dark chocolate, roast, and a meaty smokey Bamberg-esque character all support a balanced amount of Christmas spices (nutmeg, clove, ginger). Moderate bitter finish ends things nicely. Surprisingly excellent!

Bottle shared with Jim and Lauren. Pours a deep black with a thin beige to tan head. Good amount of spices on the nose. Spicy, cinnamon and toast initially. Not so much gingerbread as just straight up ginger. Spicy roast, cocoa, chocolate. Interesting. If this was marketed as a ginger stout Iíd have been more impressed as it would be spot on for what was advertised. Instead it falls a little short but itís still a neat beer.

Draft at Hopjacks Filling Station. Pours a coffee brown with a small beige head. Big spicy aroma. Notes of nutmeg, brown sugar, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted malts. Really works as gingerbread. Light-medium body - a little thin. Mild carbonation. Spicy mouthfeel. Solid.

Bottle from BevMo, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a decent tan ead and a ginger and treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied dark molasses flavor with modest ginger flavoring. The spices are appropriate rather than overwhelming.

22oz bottle, batch 1, mostly to myself. Black color, good thick lighter brown head. Decent / respectable lace. Really nice nose - definitely gingerbread. Medium to bigger body. Kind of a milky / creamy texture. Light carbonation, more dry. Bitter taste, little sweet, little bite. Love the rich, cake-like aroma in this. Very reminiscent of a gingerbread cookie. Some vanilla. Sweet aftertaste. Really interesting and unique beer.

Bottle. Super dark thick pour with a huge head. Lots of gingerbread, nutmeg, with some chocolate on the taste. Very good!

Bottle:   Nearly black, large frothy dark beige head, nice lacing.   Bright cinnamon/nutmeg spices, also a strong gingerbread cookie aroma.   Super strong.   A bit of a pine like foresty flavor profile, along with the aformentioned gingerbread.   The heavy spices attack the back of the throat, almost seems to burn a bit.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish is strong with spices, and loads of gingerbread.   Can be a bit overwhelming at times.
