3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours somewhat thin but nearly opaque black with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasty, dominated by a strong ginger note. On the palate the gingerbread flavor is balanced by mice alcohol warming and rich malty sweetness. Somewhat one-noted, but the note is good.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a rich coffee brown with a thick and rather persistent dark tan head. Roast malt aroma has definite spicy notes - ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg - plus hints of coffee and molasses. Flavor is truly distinctive, almost like drinking a gingerbread house with a side of molasses-infused coffee. It is rather sweet, but not cloying, and wickedly delicious. Heavy mouthfeel has some good fizz to it, and leaves a sweet and spicy finish that has a sneaky hop-bitter kick as it heads downstairs. Drink this and be merry, whatever holiday you celebrate!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
looking for an identity is it a gingerbrew of some sort or is it a stout. come to think of it this seems to be more like nutmeg. wafting in and out continuously just seems like a distraction as does the appearance which is ginger red with a blackish tinge and stouty aroma and viscosity. could use a bit more definition.

A very nice stout. Pours a beautiful thick black with a brown head. Smells a bit like gingerbread. Taste is very milk stout, starts creamy and sweet, with a bit of gingerbread coming in at the finish. Had in the bottle.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. 2013 batch. The pour is dark brown with a full soapy tan head. The aroma is a vibrant array of gingerbread, Christmas spices and estery with a slightly earthy hop note and virtually no booze anywhere on the nose. The body is medium to full. The taste begins with a spicy note but there is this exciting hop bitterness that roars forward at the finish to give it some depth. A highly interesting beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. A big nice looking dark tan head that keeps coming up and finally spilled over the glass. Sticky lacing remained when it finally fell. Minimal red in this black and thick looking beer. Initially the aroma was chocolate but soon nutmeg and allspice are noticed and it, indeed, smelled like gingerbread. A creamy feel to this thick beer. The flavor resembles the aroma in many ways. There is some very light hop notes but they are in the background to the malts and spices. The flavors are actually somewhat soft, albeit nice. I do like the mouth feel. This beer is top heavy on appearance and feel. I wish it had a little more flavor.

On tap at 3R6P. Roasted charred malt, sweet gingerbread notes in the nose. Thick black opaque with cocoa-tan creamy lacing head. Heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts and stays sweet with lots of gingerbread flavors. Roasted and charred malt notes, light molasses and ginger. Medium bitter finish with lingering sweet after.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml bottle poured into shaker. Pours cola-colored with a fizzy reddish-brown head that barely lasted past the pour. Nice roasted malt aroma with the characteristic gingerbread spice, but a little on the faint side. Flavor Is sweet without being syrupy or overwhelming. There’s no doubt that this is a spiced beer, but it finds a good balance between the spice and stout characteristics. The mouthfeel is slightly thin, but it’s a minor point.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: Nice gingerbread aroma. Cinnamon. A little chocolate in there.
A: Looks amazing. Pours dark dark brown. Head retention is killer. Looks creamy and tan.
T: Taste the gingerbread for sure. A bit of chocolate note. Alcohol gives some good warmth. Well balanced with the gingerbread not overwhelming.
P: Heavy body. Boozy. smooth. Nice gingerbread flavor.
This is an amazing stout. A really great balance between the gingerbread and the other stout flavors. A must try. Mmmm... as it warms it tastes like coca cola.... Not so good warm so finish it while it’s cold!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown / black appearance with a creamy, big dark brown head. Very spicy - clove, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg - aroma along with some dessert like notes. Caramel / chocolate, a touch sweet, very spicy, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger flavor. Too spicy for my taste but not bad overall.
