2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jason1970 (139) - Illinois, USA - APR 27, 2013
Not good. Reminds me more of a bad cream soda than a bad beer. Either way, doesn’t work well. More vanilla than oak and very artificial tasting. Skip this if you come across it.

Bottle->SA. Amber with 1/2 inch white head. Aroma: nuts, caramel, malt. Taste is sweet with oak and vanilla. Eh.

Bottle courtesy of friend Chris the Beer Whisperer. Malty aroma, sweet, sugary, Lighter sweetness in the flavor, with not much memorable, oak barely there, just an unremarkable amber ale.

Nothing real special tasting about this. Slight hops with a bit of malt to end it. Overall decent.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 27, 2012
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a typically carbonated light orange brown colored body. The aroma was nutty and brown malt. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The balanced flavor contained notes of brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. I found it to be very much like a Fat Tire.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BBB63 (5411) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Bottle and served in Imperial Pint glass: Pours a reddish amber hue with a nice foamy head and left good lace upon glassware. The aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla bean, wheat bread, slight grassy hop and light woody esters. The taste is smooth malty richness backed up by a light handed oak character. Very faint noble hop bitterness found at the very end. Quite simplistic beer with not much complexity. The mouth feel is soft and smooth with a slight tannic finish. It is okay, you could do worse.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BucannonXC5 (567) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass at my house on Aug. 4, 2012 (picked it up for $1.59 at BevMo in La Mesa, Calif., on Aug. 2, 2012). 1-2 fingers of head that dissipated very quickly. Mahogany auburn color. Just a bit of lacing on the top and a small amount on the sides. No retention.
Smelled oaky bourbon or wine, vanilla, caramel and toffee malts. Reminded me of the Longshot Derf’s Secret Alt or the Rogue Dead Guy Ale.
Tasted better than the smell. Got oaky vanilla leading the way with a touch of bourbon. Very malty with caramel and toffee leading the way. Dark fruits, maybe plum. So smooth.
Medium body. Thinner texture. Below average carbonation. Long lasting smooth finish.
This beer got better for me as it went along. The mouthfeel was the best part. So smooth.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Kobal (57) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Pours a nice red/auburn color with a semi-thick head. Nose leaves a bit to be desired, oak is notable, but little else is present. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy and dries out toward the end. First sip is big malty oak, a little sweet for my taste. Reminiscent in some ways of a pumpkin ale. I tasted touches of vanilla and allspice, but malty oak still dominates the palate. Nothing offensive but nothing inspiring, either. Not a beer I’d go out of my way for.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bconch (232) - - JUL 31, 2012
Taken from old notes. Taste of vanilla, caramel and hops. Mild oak on finish. Got better as it warmed.
