Big, caramel, vanilla with notes of fruit and malt. Finishing clean and crisp. The package is as elegant as the beer it contains: a cobalt blue bottle with platinum lettering, finished with a natural cork and sealing wax, encased in a cherry wood box. There are only 3,000 bottles of Samuel Adams Millennium, and each is signed and numbered by Koch. A bottle of Samuel Adams Millennium costs about two hundred dollars.

This beer had pretty much all I wanted from it and more. I was lucky enough to finally get a handbottle and thought I’d put in my first rate in years. Pours still chestnut/cola brown. Aromas of vanilla, nuts, oak, alcohol, chocolate, and more complexity. Taste is very similar with a huge punch of vanilla and nuttiness. Some alcohol burn but it’s very welcome and still doesn’t make me think that this is 20% alcohol. Such an amazing beer. Utopias is great, but I wish they would just reproduce Millennium every other year. Mmm.....

9000th rating. Huge thanks to Brad for sharing this at the lobby share during RBWG. Number 686/3000 bottle. Pours a dark cloudy brown with no head. The oma is strong booze, dark fruit, oak. Thin mouth with strong booze and caramel, fig, vanilla, held up very well, really enjoyed this.

Shared nearly 2 years ago now by one Mr. BrokenSail early morning @ the Presidential Suite.
Entered as the benchmark for my 100th Massachusetts rating!
Pours a deem amber, perfectly still (of course)

The aroma is rich with some candied cherries, some vanilla and a good bit of toffee. It’s got a sort of oloroso sherry thing happening with the richness and the oxidation, but it’s also a little like PX with the raisiny things happening. It’s sherry like either way and it is also noticeably boozy, which is pretty par for the course with something as huge and rich smelling as this.

The flavor is again that sort of carefully oxidized sherry thing, a good bit of caramel & a lot of warming booziness. It’s got a good woody and vanilla thing happening. Again with the raisins cherry and toffee, yep it’s a sweet beer but there’s quite a bit going on.

Thanks Bro!

Hazy copper pour. Nose is caramel, maple syrup, butterscotch. Taste is liquid butterscotch, maple syrup. Sticky full mouthfeel. Wow. Words cannot do this beer justice.

Pour shared from a special bottle from brokensail at RBSG weekend - thanks again, Andrew! Wasn’t sure I’d ever get to try this. Anyway, it pours a clear, rich amber-copper color with no head. Notes of toffee, brown sugar, honey, caramel, vanilla, maraschino cherry, candy apple, whiskey, chocolate, and sherry. Warms the nostrils and palate. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, warm, coating mouthfeel. Has held up well for the most part, though more recent vintages of Utopias are definitely preferable to me. Thanks again for the special opportunity, brokensail! This is pretty legit.

Shared at RBSG 2014 in the Presidential Suite, thanks Andrew! Nose is a strong vinous, sherry, and dried fruit. Pour is still, murky brownish red. Strong fruit esters in the flavor with sherry. Lots of sherry. Stone fruit and dried apricot. Lots of alcohol lacing on the glass. Very similar to Utopias. Surprised that the alcohol warming is mild and not burning and harsh. Overall very pleasant

Cool Bros Only Bottle courtesy of brokensail. Thanks. Pours a nice brownish tawny hue, copper burnt glow in the body and edges with faint ring that dies to nothing. Rich deep hues. Aromas are sherry and toffee, caramel and firm oak meet vanillin, spirit and some warmth. Touches of chestnut, caramel and firmer oak. Sherry, orange rind and gentle marmalade. Rich and sweet. Initial is medium bodied with firmer spirit, sherry and bourbon, touches of oak, well fermented with a bit of carmelized malt, dark and dried fruit. Warm and spirit driven into the backend. A nice sherry, red fruit and firmer abv driven elements into the backend. The rich nose is sweet and intense, very deep as the beer itself seems a bit thin and warm overall. Touches of spirit, gentle toffee and sweetness. Odd, thin, and more in that spirit mode overall. Touches of warmth, a bit fusel and firm barrel elements. Gentle smokiness dies out a bit. Some solid stuff, honor to try. Nose is intense.

I got this tame pete thanks to Borkensail who brought it to RBSG in a little soda bottle. It is slightly cloudy brown and headless, which makes sense for a beer w/ no carbonation. It smells pretty much like port wine, quite heavily oxidized, w/ just a bit of toffee malts. It is very sweet but surprisingly not heavy. There is good amount of cherry and raisin notes once you taste it and my only real complaint is that it’s really hot. Honestly, this and Utopias are pretty tasty but neither of them is half as good as a mid shelf port making their existence quite hard to justify.

Small pour from a hand screw top container, huge thanks to brokensail... Hazy red brown color. Thin off-white head. Huge caramel malt & heat just in the nose... Huge heat and burn in the flavor. Man. Tasty, though. Dark fruit, caramel spicy malt. Bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Nice big interesting complex strong ale. Super interesting potent flavorful stuff. Pretty reasonable for the ABV, actually.

@ the peteing zoo. Murky orangish brown appearance with little head. Heavy tannic nose. Lots of wood, leather, dark grape, and plum. Kind of tastes like a port. Big leather taste. Alcohol burn isn’t that bad. Big fig taste. Kind of fun to try.

Sampled from the bottle, thanks! Pours a clear earthy amber with no head whatsoever. Aroma is full of caramel, sweet grain and booze with hints of toffee and a touch of smoke. Flavor has sweet grain with strong toffee and caramel as well as a touch of booze.
