3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a slightly hazy yellow with very active carbonation and a foamy white head. Aroma of lemon and grass. Taste is reminiscent of a german pils. A bit of lemon tartness in the flavor as well. Very crisp and refreshing. Also has a bit of wheat taste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Luck Pie Lodo. Pour is clear straw in appearance with a fluffy white head and great lacing. Grainy, cereal, straw, light grass, wet-dog, light corn, and tropical fruits in the aroma. Grainy, grassy, a touch of vanilla, weedy - though the hops are very faint - hay, biscuit, and cereal with a ligh bitter finish. Thin body with high carbonation. It’s OK, but I would never have guessed that this was a "pale ale." Meh.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC. Light copper colored pour pour with a short off-white head. Aroma reminiscent of a lager although possibly with a bit more floral and grassy hops. The taste is unlike an American pale ale of today given the caramel and toffee malts and muted hop character. The story on the bottle made this seem as if it were the pale ale that influenced others that came after it. That may be so but it has more in common with Sam Adams Boston Lager than any pale ale I have tried. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
It poured a clear golden yellow color with a medium white head. The aroma was of white bread, pine and light citrus. The taste was sweet, bready, straw and some subtle white pepper. Very nice.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A real home brewed taste. Has a little Sam Adams taste to it. Medium mouthfeel, not super crisp. Balanced full flavor with not too much hops. I want to taste more hops.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Total Wine, Naples. The pour’s slightly hazy deep gold with a small white head. The nose is light grassy hops, some toasted white bread, shortbread, some golden apple. The taste is more apple, some toasty doughy pale malt, light grass. Crisp finish. Slightly watery light body. Overall, this tastes not unlike many of the heavily hopped lagers that are pretty popular these days. An interesting piece of beer history.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear light golden with a large white head. The aroma has citrusy hops, fairly sweet malt with light toast, some breadiness and a hint of fruit. It has a mediu, / light crisp body with gentle frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with some creamy maltiness, cotton, toasted malt and some cellar must. The finish has pine, dry citrus and some rough earthiness. Decent APA.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The appearance combines a few elements: a golden color, a slightly hazy opaqueness, active bubbles, and a foamy, medium-sized, white head. Also, the aroma of the beer is subtle with hints of dough yeast and citrus hops. The taste, although quite muted, is mildly sour, slightly bitter, and slightly sweet; also, the palate has a medium body, thick texture, abrupt finish, and an average carbonation, which is a bit of a weird combination without being too off-putting.
