2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Scipio (490) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - FEB 4, 2013Pours a clear, slightly carbonated, pale golden with a thin white head. Aroma consists of floral hops on top, grass, some lemon, and bread. The taste is somewhat muted. Instead of the tasting something out of what I gathered from the aroma, instead it is rather grainy. Actually, it is still bready, and I get a bit of a metallic taste in there, especially at the end. Short metallic and bready aftertaste. It is crisp when drinking. Light in body with some decent carbonation in here. Not among my favorites.

Disappointed with this Sam Adams. It's nothing special at all. Kind of bland and not too much of a taste to it.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jbrana (57) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - MAY 24, 2013
This beer is nothing special or out of the ordinary, but it is probably one of the best examples of a basic American ale. If faced between this and a macro, I would go for this hands down, but it lacks some of the magic that tends to be present in other craft beer. I can certainly appreciate this beer for what it is, but not much more. Has a slightly skunky hop presence with a sweet and maybe corny? malt flavor. Leaves a bit of a grassy taste on the tongue.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DMLINAZ (184) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 23, 2013
Aroma of malts, grass, wheat, just a hint of citrus and mild hops. Flavor is similar, more a Kolsch, lager or pilsner to my taste than a pale ale. Not bad, and I appreciate there’s some history to the recipe, just not what I was expecting, and not generally my kind of beer. Seems like a decent Kolsch, but this was definitely lacking in hops for my preference. Glad I tried it and wouldn’t turn it down, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Narnad (1342) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 23, 2013
Pours a hazy yellow color with a modest, quick fading white head that leaves a light amount of lacing. Aroma is grainy with a light lemon citrus and light grassy notes to finish. Flavor starts off pretty grainy with a lot of lemon/grassy hops combination and finishes with a stronger grass note with some modest floral finishing notes. Body is light, slightly dry with a low amount of carbonation. Okay for a pale ale. Nothing to rave about but an enjoyable, easy drinking brew.

Yellow with a white head. The aroma and flavor are nearly identical and are quite bland. I get some grass and grain notes, as well as a hint of biscuit malt. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not sure if it was a bad bottle or if this beer is just not for me, but this was quite disappointing.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 beerandbeyond (452) - ISRAEL - MAY 17, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass.
Clear golden color with a small white head.
Fruity nose with hints of citrus and apricot, and some bready malt.
Sweetish malt flavors, with light caramel, baked apples, honey, medium bitterness and faint alcohol notes.
Medium body, quite balanced but not very crisp. OK.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kidmartinek (2463) - austin, Texas, USA - MAY 15, 2013
A satisfying, refreshing beer. Sweet mashy grain aroma. Pours hazy, rich golden with a frothy white head. The taste is like a steel reserve without the alcohol but not neary as danky. This reminds me of a classic american beer before everything went light pale lager. In a way its nostalgic and good.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pershing (373) - Garland, Texas, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Clear gold with lots of visual carbonation and a frothy off white head. Sweet citrus and malt aroma. Smooth medium body mouth feel with a little spritz from the carbonation. Excellent hop/malt balance. A Slightly dry lingering finish.

Bottle at BTBF. Pours with a lightly hazed golden hued body with a white head. Aromas are floral, bready, biscuity, low esters and light citrus. Flavors are bready, grainy, floral. Lightly spicy, almost coriander like, citrusy malt character. Nice toasted and dry malt base. Medium bodied.

Really decent pale ale. Lots of hop character to it. Looked really nice in a glass with the bright golden yellow. Will look at getting more of these next time I am at the store.
