Jack McAuliffe’s pioneering spirit paved the way for the American craft beer revolution. We’re rereleasing his original Pale Ale, with its distinct American hop character for the first time in 30 years in honor of Jack and his contributions to craft brewing. Cheers!

Almost clear gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light and crisp. Sharp fine carbonation. Slightly sweet pale malt, tastes like there is a spot of ginger spice, well buried. The malt turns a little creamy. Light sweetish citrus and then a crispy finish. Pleasant sweet Pale Ale, refreshing.

Bottle from Capitol Beer. Pours light amber gold with a creamy white head. Light malty aroma with fruity/grassy hop. Med minus body. Flavor is quite mild. Starts with some grassy hop then light roasty malt pops up. Finish is grassy/fruity dry. Bitter enough to scare people 30 years ago? After reading a book for 15 minutes while not paying attention to what I was drinking, my brain stood up and said "good stuff". So perhaps it’s a bit subtle for those of us used to hop bombs. But it is good stuff. Rating up a bit.
