Draft @ redlight redlight. Banana & clove esters on the nose. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet malts upfront with spicy notes and bready malts. Not bad
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 darn1207 (1320) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 18, 2012
On tap at Liquor Loft. Faint banana and pale malt aroma. Tastes are belgian yeast, spices, banana. Happens quick and leaves dry, spice, tinny finish. Nothing crazy complex, but good and drinkable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PorterPounder (4093) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Proof. Light golden pour, frothy white head. Aroma has some bubble gum accents, a hint of cloves. Flavor reminds me of gumdrops, some candied sugar notes, a hint of licorice, brief citrus flourish. Smooth mouthfeel. In my humble opinion SA should stay away from the Belgian styles - none of these have knocked my socks off.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 falco242 (56) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 14, 2012
Not any head on the tap pour and the appearance is lacking with just a light golden orange color. Fruity aroma that hits the bready, wheaty triple style.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 ElGaucho (1861) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAY 14, 2012
Draft at stub & herbs. Strong aroma with distinct sweet Belgian qualities. Clear dark gold body with virtually no head. Really good flavor. Nails the tripel style. Alcohol is somewhat hidden. Impressive.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Mat42m (41) - orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Very fruity aroma. Orange color pretty clear. Sweet light taste with a semi bitter finish. Drinkable and delicious.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beerman6686 (2531) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 7, 2012
This poured a semi hazy darker yellow color with a white head. Aroma was banana, yeast, some spices, and alcohol. Flavor was abundantly sweet with candi sugar, light spice notes, and lots of alcohol. I think this would have been a lot nice without the strong booze aspect.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bunget (133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 6, 2012
750ml bottle. Cloudy orange body with a huge white head, great retention. Aroma is yeasty sweet, fresh at the same time thanks to a good dose of grassy hops, coriander, some sourness. Taste is badly masked alcohol upfront, yeast, banana, herbal tones, some fruits, maybe peach, coriander, nutmeg, pretty sweet. A very decent brew.
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 efecher (45) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Oak aged, fruity, very drinkable. A great example of a good tripel. Definitely taste a slight hint of tropical fruit - mango?
