3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured a clear golden color. The head was two fingers high and dissipated over a minute or so. Nice mix of hop and malt in the nose with grass, subdued caramel, cereal grain, and earthy/spicy hops. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild to moderate hop bitterness. Flavors followed the nose pretty closely; grassy/leafy/earthy hops, cereal and a bit of caramel. Nice, easy drinking beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden pour with a minimal white head that recedes quite expediently. The body holds very little carbonation. The aroma is caramel, toasty malt, spicy-herbal hop notes, and some moderate cereal grains. The flavor it hop forward for the style- herbal spice and a slight lemon peel. The malt component is largely caramel in nature, but it quite dominated by the hop profile. Impressive I suppose. The palate is light to medium with medium effervescence and a dry resinous finish. Quite nice for the style actually.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear gold pour, minimal white head. Aroma holds rosemary, citrus hop, spice, grain, caramel, and toast. Flavor is quite hoppy, with lots of lemon, rosemary, a touch of sage, and some more caramel and grain. Fairly light palate with some hop bitterness at the finish. A solid pilsener.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: APR 7, 2010 Tried this on tap at the Sam brewery open house. Very flavorful, with flowery and citrusy notes. Finish is surprisingly sweet. Not my favorite style, but this one shines above most other pilsners.
update: I have enjoyed this beer so many times over the past couple months because of it’s broad distribution. places all over the east coast have had this on tap along side the fizzy yellow garbage, and I have enjoyed this hoppy gem every time. I am sad to see that this is now being phased out in favor of the boring sam summer ale. hope they bring the noble pils back next year

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a transparent bright golden with a well-lacing froth of clingy white head. Aroma of fresh noble hops and some lightly sweet pale malts. Starts with pretty good fullness for the style and a well-dissolved carbonation with some light grainy maltiness and soft noble hop flavors before a crisp, bittersweet, refreshing finish. Pretty true to style and quite drinkable. Would make for a nice session beer.

Draft at Hard Rock - Detroit. Bright golden and quite active with a nice head. Rich and malty with a biscuity character. Nicely balanced with a European bitter bite. Nice. (#3815, 1/24/2010)

Draft. Pours a clear pale yellow/golden body with a medium sized white head with little retention and some nice lacing. Aroma is crisp fresh hops, malts, grassy and lemon cirtrus. Flavor is also citrusy, light hops, malty. Not bad in the least but not that great either.

Bottle. Pours a copper body with a white head. Clean crisp, light spruce, grass, some bitter hop resins, a light pine, and earth y and herbal tones. A light bread y body with a squeeze of lime, some mild citrus rinds and a modest bitter lively hop bite. A very nice pils i must say.
