3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle from bbb63. Thanks mike! Pours a clear yellow with a big foamy tan head. Notes of grass hops, herbal hops, soap, and pilsner malt. Crisp, dry, refreshing. Pretty pleased with this. Now this would be a good session beer. this damn thing was gone before i knew it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Got this in a winter mix-pack. Poured really pale gold with quickly dissipating white head. Got some earthy hop aroma, along with a little grass. Taste is pretty yeasty, bready and earthy on the first sip, but once you get used to the taste only the hop character remains apparent. Easy drinking, crisp and smooth beer. Definitely better to have this in your sampler pack than something like Cherrywheat.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. I wasnít sure about this, primarily since Iím not the biggest fan of pilsner beer, but I gave it a try anyway, and boy was I surprised. This beer was well balanced, had a wonderful hop character, and didnít just taste like watered down malts with a dusting of hops. Easily drinkable, and has a nice, crisp, clean finish.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Picked up a six from Wal-Mart. Tried to give Cavie that Budweiser back, but somehow itís still in my fridge. Pours clear yellow with a thin white head. I sure donít smell much. Maybe some caramel or toffee and maybe some hops. Maybe. Taste is bitter, honey, and a smattering of hops. Kind of nice, actually.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear gold, dense white head. Commercial description is spot on, only Iíd call it medium bodied instead of full, and grassy, earthy notes from the hops instead of citrus. Great noble hop and pils malt character. Very dry finish with some earth and bitterness. This could be my session beer for the next month or so, great stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2010 This was a pretty drinkable beer, but didnít have as much character as some of the Sams do. I took this back to back with a homebrew, so it was a pretty stark contrast. The overall impression that I got was mild butterscotch diacetyl and light citrus over a pretty good, silky mouthfeel. The hopping was not muted, but not over-done, and it was very "plant-y" - not herbal or grassy or vegetable really but something like a cooked pot liquor. Nice aroma, again with the diacetyl. Fair label, gold brew. New Leaf Market.
Note: I had this on tap at Famous Daveís, and the tap version was a lot better, back-to-back with Shock Top.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The appearance golden with a small head. The aroma is hoppy and malty with a nice balance but the aroma is weak. The taste is like the aroma being a bit citrusy. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a great pils with plenty of hops and I love that itís not astringent.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a clear gold with many streams of carbonation and a thin white head. Aromas of grain, grass, crisp herbal and citrus hops. Flavor is kind of doughy with a little bit of lemon and grass (emphasis on grass), a little skunky hops and a slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is crisp and light.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Distinct taste of lemon right up front - not at all objectionable. Traditional European pils taste hides subtly in the background. Couldnít detect it at first for the lemony attack. Lacing is extraordinary for a pils, and the body is much more robust as well. Not a bad pilsener at all. Much more character than most Iíve tried. Very refreshing after a winter (its very springlike here in NM today) of heavy IPAs. Nice playoff football watching quaff, for sure.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pils done right! Pours in golden with white head. Head retention a bit low. Nice hoppy nose, beer is well balanced and finishes with a nice bitter linger on your palate.
