2009 Beer Lover’s Choice Contestant - Sample A. Similar to a traditional Czech Pilsner, our Samuel Adams Pils is brewed with a blend of 5 Noble Hop varieties from each of the world’s only remaining Noble Hop growing regions. The spicy, herbal and citrus hop character is well balanced by the Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt, adding honeyed malt character and full body without sweetness.

Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and floral hops, smells crisp, a little biscuity. Taste is simple and easy going, light gassy hops really smooth and refreshing with a faint bitterness. I might buy this again for a hot summer day.

3 finger white head, yellow body. Nose: Green apples, yeast, herbal notes and a hint of butter. Aroma: Herbal notes, slightly metalic, earthy notes, hint of resin, cookies, butter, caramel, malt and green apples. Semi-long, semi-bitter ending.

Lys brun med et tykt skumlag som henger på glasset. Lukter syrlig/frukt, medium kullsyre og bitterhet. God, litt bitter ettersmak, rett og slett en meget god pils!

Noble hops are amazing. They’re complex yet very approachable. This pilsener makes great use of them. It captures their sweet, fresh, and herbal flavors. The biscuit-like malts are a smart match. This is one of my favorite brews from Samuel Adams and, in my opinion, one of their best.

Bb: May 2011 A: pours a light gold ale with a triple finger fine loose bubbling which dissipates quickly. Webbed lacing on the walls. S: Earthy, farmhouse nose up front. Grain backbone with a nearly offensive amount of farm. T: Simple, grainy. Plenty of corn flavors. A hint of copper metal on the background. M: Light body and medium to high carbonation - with excellent finish feel. O: I’m not quite impressed with this beer, and I’m not particularly going to pursue in the future. In fact, I prefer the SA Lager to this. Serving type: bottle 03-19-2011

Flaska.

from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - light hazy golden-blond beer with a poor head retention; a charming and solid perfumy hoppy aroma with notes of yellow fruits and light herbal tones in the background; medium-bodied, tasty and with a subtle yet fair carbonation, clean and crisp, dry and decently bitter; herbal tones dominate the ffruits in the finish - very nice

I had this at Global Brew. Pours clear gold with a white head. Taste floral, bitter. I thought this was so so. I could drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
