COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2009 Beer Lover’s Choice Contestant - Sample A. Similar to a traditional Czech Pilsner, our Samuel Adams Pils is brewed with a blend of 5 Noble Hop varieties from each of the world’s only remaining Noble Hop growing regions. The spicy, herbal and citrus hop character is well balanced by the Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt, adding honeyed malt character and full body without sweetness.

orange yellow color, aroma of bread, biscuit, grass floral hops, lemon, flavors of toast, biscuit, floral grass hops, honey, slightly dry finish, pretty good for a style I’m not to fond of

Pours clear golden with a fluffy beige head, excellent retention, fine lacing. Aromas of grass, biscuit, minerals and earth. Light body, smooth and crisp. Lightly sweet, a hint of citrus and a medium bitter finish with earthy overtones.

12 oz bottle Aroma biscuit, lemony citrus, grass, light clove spice and maybe a note of banana and yeast. Bready malt flavor; dry, medium bitter biscuity finish. Medium-thin body. Very good pils.

Misty golden body and stable small head. Green, clean, fresh and hoppy. Noble hops? Well they work in a modern and delicious way. Drinks clean yet pretty bitter and simply very drinkable because of the spot on mouth feel. Super tasty! (Bottle from Beer City)

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a clear light golden colored body with a thick one finger white lumpy head that left speckled lacing trickling down the sides of the glass. A fair amount of carbonation is seen rising. The smell had some hops with some pine, grassiness and lighter fruits. I also note some light pepper in the smell. The taste had the lighter fruits (citrus) dominate with some pine and hops come back but remain very much so in the background. Some malts come out in the taste. The palate is mostly balanced, sessionable, crisp aftertaste and finish. Overall, this is not a bad beer, but nothing spectacular. I think I would have this again, but most likely on tap.

Pours a clear golden witha substantial foamy white head that hangs around. Decent lacing. Smells of grass, bread, hops and a but of citrus. Those follow through to the taste. The hops provide a good bit of bitterness. Mouth is light with some carbonation. I’m not a huge pilsner person, but this is a nice beer.

Quite bitter this one was. But nice in the brewing field. Quite crafty and unfiltered in looks too.

Bottle at home. Pour is slightly hazy golden with a decent sized head and good lacing. Noble hoppy, somewhat chalky, grassy, biscuity, minerally, and straw aroma. Taste is straw, grassy, minerals, toasted cracker, bread, slight cereal, and lemon with a light bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation. Not too shabby.

Backlog. Tap at Green Lion Inn. Fresh cut grass and hay, with a good dose of herbs and citrus

Clear light golden with a thin, but sticky and persistent white head. The nose is quite grassy and a little herbal with just enough blonde lager biscuit peeking through. Spicy flavor with some lemonpepper, spicy saaz hops, a nice fresh grassiness, and a quiet and restrained biscuity malt backbone. Pleasantly hoppy pils that isnt an IPL or something gimmicky.

From 12 oz bottle in Chimay chalice. Pours gold in color with moderate head and lace. Aroma of straw hops and sweet malts. Significant carbonation and moderate mouthfeel. Flavors of straw hops, light herbs, pepper, amber malts. Overall tasty with some astringency.
