3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber bottle from Giant Eagle in Sewickley, PA. Small batch creations like this should really deliver the exotics and in this case I was underthrilled. Rather weak on body and too strong on the juniper. There was absolutely nothing to catch the tongue or to ponder -- the beer spoke for itself in undertones.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is one of the finest juniper brews I have ever had.
If you made this in 12oz, 12 packs ,I would get one or two ever week.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
translucent dark red amber with a foamy yellow beige head.
slightly sticky medium-full body with medium-high carbonation.
aroma: juniper, astringent minerality.
taste: juniper and spice, caramel malt. does not have the odd bread yeast character i was expecting.
reminds me of home-brewed pumpkin beers.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
Oh, never had a Sahti beer that I liked and this doesn’t change things. Why do people make this shit? Pours tawny with a dead head. Smells of, of, well not much of anything. Medium full nectar with good carbonation. A fat malt backbone implodes spewing it’s herbal innards outward rendering the user aghast. It’s like Listerine and beer in a bottle. Not a good beer by any measure.

3.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Soft red pour, medium head. Funky aroma that I dont much care for but the taste is truly something you gotta try. Fizzy with fruity and sage notes. Full bodied but not too heavy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From the bottle at Sam Adams Longshot Event. Pours a deep amber with a frothy head that falls away. The nose is earthy, slightly sweet, faint juniper. Some leafy notes and burnt sugar. On tasting, on the sweeter side and herbal though the juniper is quite faint. Some soft caramel notes as well. An interesting try, here, but misses the mark in my opinion. More of that herbal juniper would be welcomed.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tried this one at Maloney’s last night. Honestly the name just stood out on their expansive draught list, so I figured I’d give it a try. A dark ale with great color and minimal bitterness. Hope I can find it bottled!
