The aroma was dominated my malts, sugary sweetness with light spice. The flavor was lots of malt, bready and sweet and a touch of spice. Almost too much sweetness. Thin to almost medium bodied, saddled by residual sugars. patrickfannon (299), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Sep 15, 2009 12-oz. Pours a crystal clear dark amber. Loose scattering of tannish film across the top. Mild, leafy, slightly toasty nose with some sweet doughy malts underneath. Creamy medium body, a little on the flat side. Dry leaves, toast, doughy malt, maybe even a tiny little squeal of bacon on the mid-palate. Another very passable big business beer that’s not really a call for spending your own money, but doesn’t hurt to drink. Unflawed, more or less; even has a little flavor. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2009 bottle: pint glass: damn! Did I just pour an Octoberfest at the end of September?! n00b move on my part... Pours a deep caramel, high foam settling to a thin head film. Lots of malts on the nose, some roasted qualities, some dark sugars. Nice spice available on the tongue, more of the roasted malts coming through again. Fratto (704), Arlington, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Bottle pour, looks very impressive in the glass. Nice, dark coppery color, clear, with very little carbonation, and small head. Quite mild in aroma and flavor, was expecting a little more from an Oktoberfest. Still, a good tasting brew, with noticable amounts of toasted malts, and a somewhat sweet, nutty flavors. This beer was easily drinkable, not filling, and would be a great choice of Thanksgiving dinner service beer. RHeastings (395), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a Guiness stout glass. The beer pours a deep amber to medium copper color, with a small head. The nose brings hints of Munich malt, but not to the extent that the great Oktoberfests (such as Ayinger Fest-Marzen) do. Noticable also is a slight touch of German noble hops. The palate is malt-forward, but doesn’t have the sort of complexity that great examples do. Munich malt adds a full and enjoyable flavor, but a adding a few degrees to the mash temp would add some body, and potentially fill out the flavor. Overall, not great, but not terrible. vacantskies (81), Spokane, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2009 The is beer is sweet and mellow. The slight spice I’ve come to expect from october beers is there. Nothing special here but still drinkable.
