Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Light amber with a thin white head. Pleasant but bland aroma of malt and acid with a hint of caramel. Flavor is well-balanced malt and hops. Dry, crisp mouthfeel. Good oktoberfest if you want American, or are on a budget (otherwise go with Ayinger).

On tap at Arena Sports Grille, Elmhurst, IL. A clear, brownish copper was it’s color with a modest, quickly diminishing off white head which left a small ring of foam and almost no lacing. Glass cleanliness? The aroma was toasty malt and a touch of light sweetness. The flavor added to these some distinctive Noble hop and Pils malt flavor, and moderate hop bitterness. Medium to light body, high carbonation, and dryness toward the finish. A standard, quaffable Marzen.

Color is dark amber, aroma of malts and hops, flavor is sightly nutty. Pretty good for a seasonal. Very drinkable

Colour... deep amber with a thin off white head that dissipated quickly. Nose... lightly malty and some faint noble hops. Palate... slightly roasty malt, mild hops, grainy edges. Rather one dimensional but certainly drinkable.

Picked up a seasonal pack on the way home from work, and was itchin’ to try this one. First thoughts that it was a very clean beer, in both the nose and palate. Very fruity in the aroma, with a strong caramel angle. Flavors had some nice caramel and apple notes with a very clean finish. I could easily drink several of these as SA kept it light, refreshing and very clean.

Nice amber pour with an off-white head. Tastier then the other marzens I tried during the night. Malty, a little sweet almost fruity. Tasty.
