3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured amber with a dense white head that lasted until the end. Aroma was biscuity, light but fresh. Flavor had lots of malt, and nutty, a tad sweet but with a clean finish. Seemed a little thin, but overall a good effort.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap. Pours a clear darkish read with a small head. Aroma is not that prominent, some light maltiness. Taste is too sweet with plenty of caramel, molasses and roastiness. Aftertaste has lingering sweetness. Mouthfeel is pretty full and round. Not bad, but I wouldn’t seek it out again.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I really enjoyed this brew. Wasn’t anything too special, but it tasted good and went down nice and smooth. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2005 Copper tones permeate every facet of this beer. Very flavorful, aroma of hops and fruits- apricot and dates it seems -complex flavor for this beer as well -can taste the wheat, nice harvest.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice orange color with a thin head. Taste is slightly bitter and the body is very crisp, if that’s a word I can use. Somewhat dry finish. Very good beer.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2004 The beer pours into lager glass with thin head. Has a slightly sweet aroma. The first taste is smooth, and mildly bitter There is a bit of a cola-like tingle on the tongue that seems to linger momentarily. The body of the beer is light and has a hint of roasted nut flavour to it. A bitter taste lingers in the mouth, but is not offensive.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2004 bottle 12 oz. Crystal clear cherry/amber. Small head that didn’t last, no lace. Aroma is slightly smoked Mickey Mouse cooked amber malt w a touch of hops. Flavor is sweet, a bit bitter, cooked, buffered med roasted malt. Alcohol is noticible. Tastes like some macro attempt at a decent brew, like a powder that was added to water and alcohol to form an instant. My Sam Adams opinion still stands......dump it! I got a feeling this crap is just like BMC...god damned hop extract and all. It did go down the drain.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great copper color with a thin but lasting head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity (apricot and pumpkin) and a bit metallic. It’s very refreshing with a taste of apricot and other fruits, and very little bitterness. Overall, this is a good beer, especially since I’m not really into Sam Adams. Pour a couple of these while watching a football game, and you’ve got yourself a good afternoon.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2004 Bottled. The colour is somewhat pale copper. The foam sinks down to a two finger thick, smooth head.
The smell is full of fresh hops, some bread and a burned flavour.
The carbonation is… crispy. Crispy with small bubbles; it is rather refreshing.
The taste is full of burned malt. The sweetness is moderate for the style. The bitterness is quite soft. The aftertaste got a growing bitterness with tones of citrus
I think that this is a very, very good dark lager beer, as one could have expected from Samuel Adams. But is it an oktober bier? Maybe.
