tomer (365), Rishon Le Zion, Israel Jan 21, 2009 12 oz. bottle, beautiful clear dark rust orange colour, small head that dissapears quite quickly, light malty aroma with faint tracse of hop and vanila. Strong flavour of malt, bread and biscuit, with strong hoppy bitterness, quite dry with a touch of sweetness appearing right at the end. Full bodied and quite satisfying.
ant880 (39), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jan 19, 2009 This is a pretty good representation of an Oktoberfest beer. Rusty colored poor with an almost nutty aroma. Nice balance between the malts and hops in this one as well. Definitely one that I keep my eye out for in the bars and stores when the summer ends. webbcreative (111), , Oklahoma, USA Jan 18, 2009 Updated: Nov 1, 2009Poured a nice deep copper, amber color, with 2 finger white head.
Aroma - Really nice toasty, malty smell, and has a pretty good amount of sweetness aroma as well.
Taste - Again, malt forward, with sweetness coming into play, but not overly sweet in my opinion. Toasty bready flavor. Enough hops to just balance out the sweetness.
Drinkability - I could definitely [and have] throw back several of these in a sitting without a problem.
Overall, I remember now why this is the beer that got me into the craft scene. This is a really good beer, nice malty profile, which I am drawn too in general. But I think I may have built this beer up in my head since the first time I tried it, as I can see now it’s not "The best beer in the world" as I thought when I first tried this. ;)
topherh (889), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jan 13, 2009 Pours a dull orange with beige head. Malty, nutty aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel malt that clings to the palate. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 1, 2009 Draught @ Café Nexxt in Miami Beach. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Somewhat clear light amber color. Aroma was malty with a light touch of fresh hops. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet flavor with some counter bitterness. Light dry and fresh bitter finish. Quite refreshing and nice. ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Dec 26, 2008 12oz bottle and on tap. Poured a copper colored body with an off-white almost tan head. The head is creamy and has a lot of staying power as does the lace. It has a metallic sweet aroma with a little bit of a hoppy fruit smell. It has a roasty malt flavor at first with some metallic tones but not as bad as the aroma. It is a sweet beer for the most part but there some good hops in the flavor. The mouthfeel is a little slick with some carbonation.

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty, keller notes, malt sugar sweet, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [280908] SkyCop32 (286), Morlautern, Germany Dec 20, 2008 The beer pours a clear red with lots of carbonation. This is a well balanced beer with taste, bitterness, sweetness, and alcohol taste. This is a really good beer.
