Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

The beer pours a clear red with lots of carbonation. This is a well balanced beer with taste, bitterness, sweetness, and alcohol taste. This is a really good beer.

@ Newark airport, from tap, red color with a white medium head, aroma is cheesy with some herbs and deep caramel, flavor is malty and graiy with deep caramel notes and balancing acidity, medium bodied, nice and refreshing.6/4/6/3/12 Nice red color but with small head, aroma of flowers fruits and herbs, sweet biscuit malty flavor with a finish quite like the mid flavor. OK+.6/3/6/3/10

Pours a deep copper. Head is fizzy and dissipates very quickly. Aroma is malty, with something like dried fruit in it. Also caramel. Nice but not really enough aroma to stand out. Flavour is sweet but not stand out. The mouthfeel is great. Full and creamy.

Pours clear golden brown with nice off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, some hops. Flavor is mostly caramel, but a bit watery. I remember this being more flavorful in years past, but not bad overall.

Draught: so I was pleasantly surprised with this one as I was really in the mood for a beer. A bockish, malty flavor dominates with a cream, slightly sweet finish. The combination of sweet with the malt made this chuggable.

Pours nice amber color with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. There is little lacing to speak of. The smell is of bready malt. The taste reflects the bready malt with a twinge of smooth caramel in the finish. The carbonation is a bit on the heavy side, but not oppressive. This brew goes down very smoothly and clings a bit from the heavy malt. Overall this is a pleasant harvest brew that is very easy to drink and have several of. There is not all that much to it and is rather one dimensional, but well worth the purchase as a fall staple. Reviewed on: 10-22-2008

Overall this was my favorite Octoberfest beer of the season. Very consistent. Good malty taste. Almost creamy texture. Smooth and very drinkable.
