2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Not bad, but I was expecting a little better. There is a sweet corn syrup taste that is fairly noticable. Very malty, but not overly hoppy like Boston Lager. It also reminds me of H.C. Berger’s Bombay Express (though not as good as it once was) back before it became non-carbonated piss water.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2002: Absolutely terrible. This is THE worst beer coming out of Sam Adams this year. If it were tasted blind, one would assume this is from the 500 lb gorilla that is AB. Very evident that many malts are used, but what about that rice/corn taste in the foreground? Give me a Spaten anyday.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nothing special, and not as good as regular Sam Adams. Still nice, but the weak head, overly sweet taste, and biting aroma aren’t that great.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2012 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with notes of metal shavings and dirt.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky, slightly unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent, metallic.
Metallic, dirty, bland, and husky. Zero effort went into this product...this is just something to fill shelf space.

One of Sam Adams’ best beers. Increadible color/look and very aromatic. Not as bitter as most bock’s but it all depends on what you like.

Not bad, but I’m not a huge fan of Bocks. Good color, bitter taste(lots of hops).
