The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Dark amber with a modest beige head. The aroma and flavor were fuller than I had expected...nutty, earthy, malty sweet, and spicy. Moderate mouthfeel...semi-dry finish. Not bad.

This one is a bit darker than its counterparts. The one I had was plenty malty, with a little extra on the chocolate side, and low on hops and bitterness. I expected a little better carbonation. It seemed flat and had a very thin head. Although this beer is truly excellent when on sale for 2$ a 20oz glass, in general I would not recommend it.

Very deep amber coloring. Nice malty flavor, but needs some hops for balance. Drinkable.

Had this on tap at Logan airport: One of Sam Adams' better beers. Has a decent malty presence and deep copper color. Nice sweetness throughout, but lacking in the refined hop presence. A decent and easily drinkable oktoberfest.

Red to copper color when held to light, not much aroma or flavor but easy to drink and smooth going down.

deep amber brown color with lots of light bubbles. aroma is of toasty malt, and the head is delicate. it's a good fall lager, nice and malty with a little bit of bitterness in the finish. i like this one; it's nice and mild.

Bottle: Good nose, fruity, toasted malt. Small head. Clear brown/orange. Some lacing. Sour toasted malt flavor. Kinda creamy, some linguring bitterness. Its O.K., A safe Octoberfest.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2005 A mild, but very enjoyable and drinkable Octoberfest. Creamy head and respectably full mouthfeel save this from macrobrew oblivion.
