Wolfenstein (96), Sarasota, Florida, USA Oct 17, 2008 Apricot/ Orange marmalade and honey flavor. OK carbonation. Finishes well. Not what I expected from an Octoberfest beer, but good overall. djones (116), Michigan, USA Oct 17, 2008 Dark amber brown color. I’m actually surprised at the balance in this sam adams brew. Malty, with a touch of sweetness, and an even lighter touch of hops. Some caramel and sourness to it as well. Medium bodied and smooth. Could have a little more to it, but one of the better sam adams brews ive had. ChazMania (408), Pasadena, California, USA Oct 17, 2008 Tapped. I had higher hopes for this. The aroma as well as the flavor fell very flat for me. Very disappointing and not as enjoyable as other Oktoberfest beers. fidel (887), Livermore, California, USA Oct 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 21, 2008Golden amber, sweet, malty, caramel, little spice, little sour and hop finish. Fyrdraca (15), Greenville, South Carolina, USA Oct 16, 2008 I thought this was okay. The aroma was rather absent and the flavor was pleasant, but overly simple; mostly syrupy caramel flavors with a generous helping of malt. Pours an eye-catching dark copper. Pretty alcohol-deficient for my taste. It was very easy to drink, and I might get it again if I want something tame, but there was no edge to it, regarding both taste and bite. rbrazell (57), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 16, 2008 pours a dark copper with a small off-white head. nose of faint sweet roasted malt. flavor with sweet malt with some spices coming through. pretty descent octoberfest. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Oct 16, 2008 Tap. Clear amber color, short head. Aroma is a bit malty, some caramel, brackish hop. Bit bitter taste, some caramel. Quite boring. Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Oct 15, 2008 The nose of this beer is dead, however it makes a pleasant comeback in the way of apricot marmalade and honey flavor. Good carbonation and finish too. Could’ve been a little stronger alcoholically, but drinkable nevertheless. Good overall.
