Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Dark auburn color with lots of head. Sweet beer with some taste of spice. Aftertaste is similar to a Budweiser. I would rather drink Boston Lager any day, but i prefer more hoppiness.

Coppery color and thin head. This is an average Octoberfest-type beer. Balanced flavor. Drinkable, but nothing outstanding.

Ruddy reddish brown with big billowing tan head. Smell is sweet malts with a faint metallic note. Mouthfeel is nice and solid. Taste is really well balanced between smooth, flavorful maltiness and a slightly bitter flowery hop bite. Not my favorite style, but still a very good representation of an Oktoberfest bier.

I’ve tried it in both a bottle and draft at the brewery in Boston. It pours with a small head and with a copperish tone. This is a delicious beer that has several tastes which are palatable. I will always choose this beer if available when I go out for a drink.

Draft: Poured a copper orange with not much head. Aroma was malty with hints of orange and spice. The flavor was roasted malts and nuts. Overall, one of the best Oktoberfest beers out there.

This is one of my favorite Octoberfest’s on the market. To bad this beer only comes around once a year. Great

This deep old copper bottle from a real hit and miss microbrewer (or large capacity micromalt factory) surprised me. While I am partial to our northwest and cal quafs, Sam got this one into the bottle tasting smooth and lasting smooth. While much darker than the Oktoberfests of Munchen many years ago, this stuff is a steady drinking delight where you just sit in a tent for ten hours and drank multiliter after multiliter of smooth, persuasive goodness delivered by chubby St. Pauli- type girls. Many notes merge but the balance is the key to its drinkability. It doesn’t leave you warn out or pasty palated. I tend toward aggressive hoppiness but the malts herein really work
