thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Sep 25, 2008 12oz bottle: pours dark amber with slow fading white head, aroma of some pale malt and special malts and that typical lager smell to it, flavor the special malts come through pretty strong some caramel and rosted malt along with some other specal malt that i cant put my finger on, pretty decent beer. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Sep 24, 2008 Sampled at the NY Brewfest on 9/12. Not able to give a very accurate rating due to the sheer number of brews sampled. Was decent, lighter bodied than expected. porter4porter (32), Florida, USA Sep 24, 2008 On draft, Rich amber color with a foamy head that lives up to its description, malt flavor with spicy finish, overall decent Octoberfest and worthy of a try, another good beer from Boston Beer Company Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 24, 2008 12oz. Bottle. Aroma grassy and caramel and toffee. Pours a nice amber with a foamy head. Flavor is a sweet malty tone just muted by the hop character. Nice and easy on the palate, smooth and just enough flavor to remind you that you are in fact having a beer. Overall, another solid offering. chrissy (122), Connecticut, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bottle: A great example of an oktoberfest. Nice malty flavor. Very enjoyable UriahHeep (103), Georgia, USA Sep 23, 2008 Attractive amber color and sizeable tan head. Inviting malty aroma. Character is malty with sweet caramel and spices. Some bitterness but doesn’t finish very well. Drank it on the first day of Autumn; quite memorable. NewBelgium5 (61), , Pennsylvania, USA Sep 23, 2008 Good dark appearance, nice mix of spices. Flavor is good and has a smooth finish for a slightly heavier beer. Neematoad (71), , Illinois, USA Sep 22, 2008 Heavy malt taste (duh!) with a nice dark appearance. Had many sweet flavors to compliment the maltyness. A little heavy but not really something to complain about. I really wouldn’t say this is much different than a lot of the other octoberfest beers i’ve tried, but then again I’m not complaining.
