Neematoad (71), , Illinois, USA Sep 22, 2008 Heavy malt taste (duh!) with a nice dark appearance. Had many sweet flavors to compliment the maltyness. A little heavy but not really something to complain about. I really wouldn’t say this is much different than a lot of the other octoberfest beers i’ve tried, but then again I’m not complaining. DaveB (73), Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA Sep 22, 2008 On tap at the Micks. Poured dark amber. Heavier than I like. But not too heavy. Not a bad seasonal beer. Might try it again. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 22, 2008 Clear amber with medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel notes and butter. Sweet flavour with notes of caramel, toasted malt, butter and bread. Ends mild bitter. nhamilton (58), Cibolo, Texas, USA Sep 22, 2008 Much better experience than with the original SA. Pours smoothly to a light tan colored head. Has a moderate bitter taste, but goes down smooth. The aroma has a definate smell of carmel. The body is light and watery. Not a bad brew. mtimmerman84 (4), , New York, USA does not count Sep 21, 2008 Bottle. Everything from Samuel Adams is above average. Similar to other Octoberfest beers, nothing out of the ordinary ditmier (1021), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 21, 2008 2008 Bottle - Pours dk orange with a medium off-white head, aroma is all malt, chocolate and caramel-y, flavour is very malt forward but not as much as I expected given the nose...very light hops on the finish, but slightly metallic...decent except for that final note... SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Sep 21, 2008 12oz bottle. Glowing orange amber color. Sweet malty aroma, with some toffee as advertised. Cloying caramel sweetness. Fizzy. This just needs some balance, and a good deal less sugary caramel. It’s drinkable but much less so than the style should lend itself to. tajstah (3), Samut Prakan, Thailand does not count Sep 21, 2008 Nice smelling. Amber. Semi complex caramel/coffee flavors. Wonderful aftertaste. NIce beer.
