Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

I just love the malty goodness in this one. Crisp and worthy of a look for a mediocre mass production.

Pours a golden brown color with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is very sweet and malty, very caramel. Some slight hop presence and a nice nuttiness. Flavor starts out very sweet and malty again. Gets bitter very quickly, in mid-swallow. Towards the finish the bitterness almost gets to be too much but it’s okay. The hops are only slightly apparent throughout. Medium body and very high carobonation. Not a bad Octoberfest, definitely fits the bill but the imbalance keeps it from being great.

Pours an amber/brown coloration which is rather attractive. The head that forms is decent. This beer contains aromas of spices and hops. Tastes of nuts and hops and some seasonal spices. A little tangy in the finish.

2008 batch. From a 12 fl. oz. bottle. Pours a fine looking crystal clear amber-orange with a decent, but short-lived tan head. Excellent lacing though. Good carbonation. Aroma of subtle sweet malts. Nice mouth feel. Bitter and light-medium hopped flavor. Not too overpowering. Dryer finish. Nicely done seasonal.

Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a huge off white head. Aroma of malt. Flavor was of caramel and a slight hop taste. My favorite Sam’s brew.

Tap. Beer is a goldish amber with a cream colored head, clear. Aroma of malt and little fruit. Taste is sweet with some caramel, and light hop. clear amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma and flavour. Nothing bad here just not very interesting.

On tap. Nice burnt orange brew with a nice 1/2 inch cream colored head. Nicely balanced between the malt and hops, although it does lean a bit toward caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Nice and heavy...not at all watered down.
