Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

On tap. Nice burnt orange brew with a nice 1/2 inch cream colored head. Nicely balanced between the malt and hops, although it does lean a bit toward caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Nice and heavy...not at all watered down.

a reddish orange attractive brew with a nice white head. flavor has some crystal malt that could be a little more prevalent to move this to the next level. a little hop bitterness that isn’t all that welcomed. a decent oktoberfest.

On tap at Magoo’s. deep Amber, enough malt but not a lot, some butter notes, sweet at start. Full mouth, no lacing or head. Not bad for type.

355 ml bottle. Copper colour. Clear. Small off-white head. Nice rich caramel aroma with a hint of roasted malts. Medium bodied, and quite drinkable. The hops are definitely there, but stays in the background all the way. Malty flavours. Clean nutty finish with a dry texture. Starts out nicely, but gets more boring towards the end.

Not bad for a style I don’t usually care for. Clear amber pour. Crystal malts on the nose. Light caramel, sweet malt, dry toasty finish. Gains a smooth almost fruity aftertaste as it warms.

Draught at Detroit Airport. Hazy gold with a thin white head; caramel malt aroma; sweet caramel taste well balanced by the bittering hops; dry and biscuity finish. Not very exciting.

20oz draft at a dive bar during stand-up comedy night. Pours a very dark orange color with a white head. Aroma is of roasted malt, spice, and caramel. Taste is very weak. There was more in the smell than in the taste. Tiny hints of the malts and caramel in the taste. Although, the lingering taste is very bitter. Bitter enough to swallow godawful dive bar stand-up comedy. An enjoyable beer if your choices are limited.
