Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Pours with a bronze body and a thickish light brown, creamy head. Aroma of toasted malts, chestnuts, and caramel. Taste is caramel, a bit nutty with some astringency in the finish. Water like mouthfeel, moderate levels of carbonation.

deep copper collour, small off white head. Aroma of caramel, and toffee, and maybe some dark fruit and honey. flavour is sweet honeylike with some biterness at the end, but the dominating feature is the sweetness. a very drrinkable but not overly exciting beer.

On tap at The Riviera in Dothan. Everyone freaked when I ordered it..."dark beer, gross". Of course, they’re just used to drinking bud light. Color was a nice deep amber, if you will. Smelled lightly of caramel, not at all over powering. Nice. Very thin head. Think I will by some of this!

bottle poured a medium light amber with a thin off white head that fell quickly. carbonation is steady and the aroma has sweet caramel apple malt, barley, grains, light spices, and a touch of honey like sweetness. mouth feel is medium light. flavor has a nice balance of sweetness and malts. touches of pilsner pop in perhaps from the german hops, light bitterness, and spice touches. nice fall time brew and very fresh.

bottle from swalden_28. poured a dark gold/amber with an orangish hue and a thin beige head. aroma was caramel and some floral notes in it. flavor had a little spice followed by some bitter. this seemed to leave an empty spot on my tongue, it was weird. i expected it to be a bit more robust with flavor, but nonetheless a solid octoberfest.
