Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX.
Pours a nice looking clear deep amber with beige head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and fruit. Flavor has nice caramel along with some fruit and slight pepper spice, slightly sweet, hint of dark roast. Palate is light-medium body with high carbonation. Overall, a pretty decient Oktoberfest.. FastEddie (178), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 7, 2008 Clear gold amber. Little or no aroma. Watery consistency - very light body. Has some decent hops in it I suppose, and is well balanced at least. bsm80 (144), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 7, 2008 Updated: Oct 11, 2008Clear copper orange, roasty malt nose, nutty and delicious, a good seasonal RunDWP (203), San Jose, California, USA Sep 6, 2008 Bottle. Poured brown with a decent sized white head, with some lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel and a little tobacco. Taste was more of the same, a nice balance of some roasted and sweet caramel malt, and a little tabacco. Perhaps a little watery, but an enjoyable brew. llcooldave (309), San Antonio, Texas, USA Sep 6, 2008 Gorgeous deep dark amber in color. Slight toasty malt in aroma. What really stood out above all was the excellent yeasty dark bread flavor with a trailing toffee like sweet bitterness on the back of the throat that was spot on. An excellent Oktoberfest. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Sep 6, 2008 Updated: Oct 21, 2008Crushed with Jakebra. Interesting. Sexy looking beer for sure. Malty, kinda roasty. Not much in the finish but it’s still not bad. Might be the best Octoberfest I’ve tasted thus far, but I’ve got a long way to go. jmm635 (249), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2008 Pours a very nice orange-amber color with a bubbly head. Pretty straight forward aroma and flavor - malts. Decent for a macro seasonal. joebudzjoe (222), Connecticut, USA Sep 6, 2008 Lots of caramel flavors come from this malty brew. Smooth to drink, think of a toffee flavored Bass perhaps. Not bad, better than the their lager, but nothing special.
