Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Pours a lovely amber color with minimal white head, smells of malts, caramel, roasted biscuits and hops. Tastes much of the same... caramelized malts, hops, bread, toffee... rather light on the tongue, fair amount of carbonation and a slightly bitter, metallic flavor. Pretty decent beer, but nothing special.

Pours a deep amber color with frothy, white head. Very nice malt flavor with hints of caramel and some hops. Light bodied and balanced beer and very drinkable. Excellent fall beer.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, bitter hops, and caramel. Poured amber in color with a small tan head that disappeared slowly. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malts, noble hops, sourdough, metal, and caramel. Light to medium body. Slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Malty, metallic finish.

Poured an amber orange color with a big white head. Aroma was very malty with some biscuts. Flavor was fairly bland, but in my thoughts thats a good thing for the style, just lots of bland malts with just enough hops to even it out.

Light amber color with a strong malty undertone. Hint of caramel along with biscuit. Little hop flavor and somewhat thin in the body. One of SA better fall beers.

Growler from River Side Spirits in Chattanooga. Enjoyed on brewday. Great looking dark copper-amber pour. Clean, clear and inviting. A malty sweetness is the most dominant aroma. The brew is very drinkable. Malt is well presented with a touch of sweetness that is not overdone but gets a it much as it warms. There is a touch of nutty bubblegum but it is not really distracting. Any hops are very subdued and are likely just there to help balance the malt. Wet, medium mouth feel and body. Good level of carbonation.
