NeoHippie2 (173), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 2, 2008 Yet another tasty brew from Sammy A. Pours a beautiful copper with a nice creamy white head. Lots of roasted malts on the nose with s flavor that follows much the same. Lots of sweet caramelized malts. Smooth and crisp finish. Very drinkable as well. I’ll be looking forward to this one every autumn. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 1, 2008 Pretty so-so, not much that stands out aside from the fact that it’s fairly light and easy to drink but it doesn’t exactly taste good enough to make you impatient for another one once you finish the first. NobleSquirrel (1099), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. First of all, I think it’s lame that they misspell Oktobefest, but whatever. Beer is deepish copper/red. Quite sweet with minimal hop flavor. Pretty mediocre in my book, nice mouthfeel though. Meh. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish gold with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty and caramel. Taste is roasted malts, caramel, toffee, and a little sweet. Tasty beer that I can see myself enjoying on some football weekends. LDawg (71), Rockport, Texas, USA Aug 30, 2008 Yeah warm mouth feel and sweet. Yes sweet. Looks delicious with the dark copper. 13$ for 12. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle.Deep orange-amber color, with huge off-white head, great lacing. Aroma is malt heavy as you would expect. Caramel, toffee, toasted grain, buttery nuts, and faint spicy hops character. Flavor much the same. Caramel and toffee up front. Toasted grain with some fruit through the middle, light spicy hop bitterness helps to balance out the flavor. Very clean, with full body and mouthfeel at the same time. Thanks Sam JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Clear copper color, thin light tan head. Slightly sweet grainy aroma, caramel, very mild earthy hops. Sweet crisp bready taste, light sweet hop finish. Something about the back end of the taste was off, but overall not bad. oteyj (713), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Aug 28, 2008 Pours copper with modest, dissipating head. Aroma is of grain and sweet malt. Flavor is much the same- sweet malt presence with a slightly hoppy balance. Quite drinkable and light on the palate. Decent, but not outstanding.
