Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Pours copper with modest, dissipating head. Aroma is of grain and sweet malt. Flavor is much the same- sweet malt presence with a slightly hoppy balance. Quite drinkable and light on the palate. Decent, but not outstanding.

Bottle. Aroma of sweet malt, grains, hopping reminiscent of Boston Lager. Flavor probably the grainiest, hoppiest and most bitter of any of the limited oc/ktoberfests I’ve had. Malt seems more toastier and less plainly sweet in this one as well. Interesting, although the more I drink, the more the hops make think I’m drinking a slightly tweaked Boston Lager. That said, I love me a Boston Lager. In any case, interesting take on the style and very nice.

Goregous halloween pumpkin orange color. Lite head and not much lacing. Lots of malts, but not off putting sweetnes. Slight bitterness. Medium bodied, lots of malt dancing with the hops gives a mouthful of warm autumm flavor going down. A nice one for the start of the fall.

Pours a dark copper color with a decent, off-white head. Malty taste with a very slight spiciness. Medium carbonation, head fades rather quickly. Medium body overall, a very drinkable Oktoberfest.

autumn came early this year. arriving into my fridgedaire crisper case late august. arriving as another school term engulfs my normally lazy mind. last week i bought a case of sam adams octoberfest - after a full year of waiting and anticipating the only malty beer that i love. every sip since has made the wait worthwhile. the toffee sweet aroma speaks of cardigan sweaters and backyard football and piles of gigantic yellow leaves. a rich, almost reddish brown glimmers in the glass like sweet iced tea from the recently passed summertime. brilliant buttery malts cascade forward on the tonge, breaking on the edges of crisp, sharp hop notes. this is a beautiful beer: the top of its oktoberfested style and the leader of the sam adams pack. also, pairs exceptionally well with a stinky chunk of swiss cheese. during the autumn time, sam adams octoberfest can only be trumped by schlafly pumpkin ale - however, until i make it to the midwest again, it’s october until december in the republic. praise be: this is a beautiful beer.

Brilliant copper in color with large white billowing head that quickly fades. Some sweet malt flavors with spicy, slightly bitter/metallic flavors. A decent lager from a SA, but not a Paulaner. Carbonation is medium and it’s easy drinking.

Pours a clear amber/orange with a nice head that dissipated quickly and left little lacing. Sweet malts and bread on the nose along with some spices. Toasted bread flavor hit first, followed by some caramel and some pleasant spices I can’t identify. A bit of hops underneath to mellow out the sweetness. Light to medium-bodied, even a bit thin, medium carbonation and a pleasant bready aftertaste.
