Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Pours a clear amber/orange with a nice head that dissipated quickly and left little lacing. Sweet malts and bread on the nose along with some spices. Toasted bread flavor hit first, followed by some caramel and some pleasant spices I can’t identify. A bit of hops underneath to mellow out the sweetness. Light to medium-bodied, even a bit thin, medium carbonation and a pleasant bready aftertaste.

Pours a medium/dark amber color with a nice head. Definite aroma of spices, caramel and hops. Not too sweet (some octoberfests are) and finishes nice and not too "heavy". Will definitely drink again.

This is an inebriated rating. I was a bit disappointed after reading the threads about this beer. I thought maybe SA had hit it big with their Octoberfest. People had even compared it to Paulaner, which I loved at the Stone 12th anniv. party. It’s not bad. It fruity and full without being heavy. The aftertaste is a bit metallic. I’d pull it out of an ice chest at a barbecue and suck it right down, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it again. I’d buy it if it were on sale, and they were out of Alaskan Amber.

2008 bottle. Pours a dark orange with a thick light light tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and molasses. Flavor of burnt and sweet toasted malts. A little bit sweet but otherwise tasty.

All I can say is that it’s one of the best lagers I’ve ever drank. It’s almost like a pale ale to me. It tastes great, has a good ’bite’ to it and it only takes two for me to feel nice and relaxed.

Pours clear dark copper with small off white head. Sweet malty aroma with mild hoppiness. Sweet flavors of toffee, caramel and bread with a slight hop bitterness. Medium body with verage carbonation. An average Octoberfest that is very drinkable.

This beer is more sentimental than anything else. My gateway craft brew. A beautiful red with a skinny head. Little bit of sweet aromas. Balanced amount of sweet malt and mildly bitter hops. Finishes with a sour twang. Full bodied and highly drinkable.
