Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

The Oktoberfest is one of my favorite Sam Adams Seasonals. It has a nice color and a significant malty flavor. It isn’t too bitter and enjoys some rather sweet flavors as well.

Pours a clear amber orange with red highlights. Limited head and lacing. The smell was pretty malty with a bready nutmeg aroma to it. Strong on the spices. The taste is very balanced with a slight roasted flavor and noticeable spice flavors, specifically nutmeg and cinnamon. I can notice a smoothiness from the lager yeast that is exceptional to most Ofests I’ve tried. The hops are not really noticeable but blend well with spices. The body is a good neutral, not overpowering, not too light. One thing I would like to see is less spice in the beer. That said this is one of the better Oktoberfest that I have had.

A good example of an American brewery’s take on an Oktoberfest/marzen beer. The only thing holding this beer back is that it’s brewed for a larger scale production than most micros. But still, its got great taste and bitterness, and goes with about anything.

this is one of the first full-tasting beers that I was exposed to. it was so different than the beers I was used to. that doesn’t mean its awesome, but for a marzen you can’t go wrong with this one. nice sweetness and maltiness.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with an off-white head. Malt, caramel and some citrus on the nose. The flavour profile is very malty - buttery caramel - with some sweetness. A litllte bitter on the finish. Extremly drinkable!
