HUNTERNFLA (25), USA Feb 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2008THIS IS ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE BEERS WITH A CARMAL COLOR AND NICE SPICE AROMA THAT WILL KEEP YOU COMING BACK FOR MORE AND MISS IT WHEN ITS GONE
finish with a sweet malty mild caramel flavor mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with an off-white head. Malt, caramel and some citrus on the nose.
The flavour profile is very malty - buttery caramel - with some sweetness. A litllte bitter on the finish. Extremly drinkable! TizzleJizzle (46), Garland, Texas, USA Feb 16, 2008 I opened up this offering from Sam Adams and the captivating aroma was of your typical Oktoberfest märzen, and the appearance was an amber golden color. The flavor was phenomenal and consisted of German malt, caramel, and a slight hint of toffee. Overall I would have to say this beer kicks major ass and I would easily recommend it to anyone! guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2008 Updated: Oct 10, 2008some of us beer snobs fail to give jim koch and his troops the recoganition they deserve for their saving us from the the evil empires of the macros. i thank god they did. need not say this is the number 1 selling octoberfest for a reason Mattie (5), Garland, Texas, USA does not count Feb 12, 2008 Big fan of any oktoberfest but have to say Mr. Adams has the recipe down. Has some what of a caramel smell with a medium palate. Taste great and goes down smooth. Overall this has to be one of my favorite beers. msante79 (785), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Feb 10, 2008 12 oz bottle, clear amber, Aroma is Carmel and malt. Taste is Carmel, malt and a little hops. Nice session beer. Kalli (474), Falun, Sweden Feb 9, 2008 Updated: Sep 14, 2008Caramel aroma with some hoppiness. A malty, bit grainy flavour with a touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Unremarkable.
Re-rate:
Dried fruit in the nose. Malty caramel in flavour. A bit better this time around. Flavour lifted from 5 and OA from 10.
Odyn (205), New York, USA Feb 8, 2008 Updated: Aug 24, 2009This would probably be my favorite beer. I find the caramel and toffee flavors very pleasant, but not overwhelming. Just a hint so that it lingers and makes you want another and another... The 2009 edition is awesome! Yum!
