Commercial Description:
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover's dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter's heartier brews.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with an off-white head. Malt, caramel and some citrus on the nose. The flavour profile is very malty - buttery caramel - with some sweetness. A litllte bitter on the finish. Extremly drinkable!

I opened up this offering from Sam Adams and the captivating aroma was of your typical Oktoberfest märzen, and the appearance was an amber golden color. The flavor was phenomenal and consisted of German malt, caramel, and a slight hint of toffee. Overall I would have to say this beer kicks major ass and I would easily recommend it to anyone!

Big fan of any oktoberfest but have to say Mr. Adams has the recipe down. Has some what of a caramel smell with a medium palate. Taste great and goes down smooth. Overall this has to be one of my favorite beers.

Caramel aroma with some hoppiness. A malty, bit grainy flavour with a touch of hop bitterness on the finish. Unremarkable. Re-rate: Dried fruit in the nose. Malty caramel in flavour. A bit better this time around. Flavour lifted from 5 and OA from 10.

This would probably be my favorite beer. I find the caramel and toffee flavors very pleasant, but not overwhelming. Just a hint so that it lingers and makes you want another and another... The 2009 edition is awesome! Yum!
