The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Aroma is very much like that of an American lager. Very nice orange/copper color with nice legs, but no lasting head. Tastes like an American lager, but with a little more maltiness. Nicely carbonated, smooth mouth feel, but leave a little resinous feel on the tounge. Not personally much of a fan of lagers, but one I wouldn?t mind having more of. Nothing great, but still very drinkable.

Not bad for a Sam Adams. Malty, typical Marzen that is refreshing and not bitter at all. Good amber ale backbone with deep golden color and light sweetness. Good fall brew.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear brown/red colour with a white head that quickly disappears. Malty scent, some hay. Malty flavour without a heavy feeling. Faint bitterness. Easy to drink. Would buy again.

Only ever had Sam Adams Boston lager so I was expecting a much hoppier beer.... This on the other hand is completely different. Much darker in colour (amber) with a rich malty and cinnamon nose. Taste is again cinnamon and dark fruits with some dark malt. It has a lighter body than I expected and is quite easy to drink. Not a bad beer but if I were looking for a dark beer I probably would look for something with more depth and body. Overall tho, I would say Sam Adams has not let me down.

Amber, thin head, not much aroma but pleasant, fresh taste, nice cold beer not much in the palate. Over all ok

12 oz can, served on my flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, so obviously I had to try it. Clear amber color. Big off white head. Aroma’s of caramel and bready malts, and red fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet, nutty. Light bodied, but not thin. Short finish, no new flavors.

On tap @ Longhorn Steakhouse Aroma was spicy. Appearance was pleasantly amber. Taste was, mildly, of Christmas spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.). Palate was wet but left a slight bitterness on the tongue. Overall... Took the waitress forever to bring it to me, but it was refreshingly tasty. Though pales in comparison to what i usually drink (dark lagers). It did hit-the-spot, though...and nicely complimented my lunch.

Red color, tan head, some nice aromas are perceived such as caramel and nuts. The beer by itself has a medium body, with strong earthy flavor, not too sweet with just a hint of bitterness.
