COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Aroma is very much like that of an American lager. Very nice orange/copper color with nice legs, but no lasting head. Tastes like an American lager, but with a little more maltiness. Nicely carbonated, smooth mouth feel, but leave a little resinous feel on the tounge. Not personally much of a fan of lagers, but one I wouldn?t mind having more of. Nothing great, but still very drinkable.

On tap at Red Robin. Orange-Amber body with a thin off-white head. Smells of yeast and bread. Tastes of complex malted barley and caramel, finish is of brown sugar and enough hops to keep it from being too sweet. I like this beer. It is brews like this that keeps Sam Adams from being overly mainstream. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance is clear amber red with a hint if orange and a moderate white foam cap. Aroma is bready and caramel with no noticeable hop aroma. Taste is a really sweet caramel malt with a slight breadlines. Lots or caramelized flavors here, but light on the toasty notes. None of the raisin or dark fruit found in German versions. Mouthfeel is moderate with a crisp carbonation. Finishes with a slightly lingering bready, caramel malt. Just enough hop bitterness to balance this beer that definitely has more residual sweetness than other oktoberfests

Can a beer be cozy? It has a smooth flavor, almost brown color, the head didn’t last much.

Looks like a decent copper colored brew with a decent head. Smells like a roasted malt Oktoberfest brew. Then there is the taste. Little on the sweet side, roasted malts, and a wierd cream soda flavor. Swear someone dumped some A&W cream soda in that batch. If you like cream soda, and I do, it’s not bad but it is far far away from being a typical Oktoberfest. That my be why they used the C instead of the traditional K on the lable.
