The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Mild aroma with a great malt flavor, this is a must try and perfect for those autumn evenings. Whether it’s a Jazz festival in Cork or a warm autumn Oregon evening this seasonal beer will suit.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Beer is gorgeous rich amber copper in color. One and a half finger very light tan head contrasts well. Aromas are on the faint side but primarily malty. Taste is balanced and outright excelent. Taste is smooth, malty and lightly sweet. Slight touch of hops. Finish is smooth and not to long. As advertised, it is a great transitional beer. My beer of choice in September. I look forward to it every summer. I am no oktoberfest expert, nor have I yet been to the real deal. But I have tried many Oktoberfest beers over the past several years and Sam Adams is the best I have had so far.

Pours a copper-brown with a tad of carbonation. Toasty nose with a hint of sweet. Pleasantly bitter with a yeast aftertaste. A solid performer.

Nice color and pour, but not much else going on here. Pretty much a seasonal Fat Tire Ale in a different wrapper. Try the Sierra Nevada authentic take on a Fest Brau instead and you’ll be glad you did.

12oz. bottle, pours bright clear chestnut color. Mild caramel nose. Honey sweet malt with toffee, caramel flavors. Smooth, but lacks the Noble hop support this style needs to balance it. Very drinkable.

Clear amber body, medium to thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Caramel, toffee, biscuit, toast, and some florals. Medium bodied, mild sweetness, moderate to soft carbonation, rounded finish. Slightly heavy handed for my liking.

I saw this in B&M and bought about 20 of then before tasting it. My thoughts- at first it seemed not great with a home brew tang, but then I started to enjoy it. Next one was pretty nice but ended disappointingly. The next one was ok. To cut a long story short, my last one smelled terrible but tasted nice and sweet. Just noticed they passed their use by date 3 months ago. All in all, this was both a good and bad beer.

Bottle - 12oz. Dark gold body with a fair white foamy head. Bland malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar hints. Its ordinary malty/hoppy taste carries sweet and some oaky notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Boring.

First tried this @ 34 degrees. Didn't think much of it, then after it began to warm up, got much more flavor from this. Not a bad Ocktoberfest beer. Very drinkable.

Pours a copper amber colour with minimal tan fizzy head which doesn’t linger. Aroma is strong sweet malt, burtn brown sugar and some orange. Taste is initially rather sweet but quicklydrying and pleasingly bitter, nicely balanced. Watery in the mouth although slightly slick too. For 89p a bottle from B&M Bargains this is pretty nice!

5.5% 355 ml bottle from B&M. Poured into a lager glass. Aroma of caramel and farmyard. Dark amber with a pillowy white head. Heavy caramel malty sweetness. Sticky texture. No my thing at all
