The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 (Old) gold, limpid and bright. Light - medium body, very low bitterness, acidity and alcohol feel, which throws into relief the low sweetness. Unassertive mouthfeel, somewhat dry-bitter finish, all appropriate to the style. The immediate impression is of abundant maltiness, maple, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from HB Provisions, Kennebunkport. Sweet lightly toasted bread aroma with moderate, spicy noble hops and peanut accents. Crystal clear chestnut appearance with a thin, off-white sheet. Nutty and toasted bread flavour with moderate bitterness from zesty noble hops. Medium light body, medium carbonation, fairly smooth.

APPEARANCE- amber color, very clear. NOSE- maltiness. FLAVOR- also malty sweetness and good body. NOTES- touted to be a classic octoberfest style - sort of marzen, I’m a fan.

It pours amber red, almost colour of fall leaf. Has a decent head, which settles quickly. Nose has mild notes of noble hops and caramel. Taste is malty with a mildly bitter short finish. Lively carbonation and slick medium palate. A good and straightforward beer. Like that there is not spicy finish to it like many other beers of this style.
