4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Situation: Friday before Thanksgiving week...perfect time for a final look at a Fest!
Glassware: Ayinger willibecker...
Appearance: light amber, orange-brownn body that colors the season well; off-white head that leaves tracings et remains whole...
Aroma: piercing malts and spices that punch with honey and candied sugars--a rather bold presence....
Palate: rounded, slightly carbonic presence with a zesty finish; enjoyable as a stand-alone or with pub fare...
Taste: malt profile is clear, crisp and round while delivering an aftertaste worth revisiting; nuanced enough not to be monolithic in maltiness...
Overall: sugars assert themselves in a way that mkes me want to seek out leftover candy corn! A solid/just short of exceptional offering in the fall sampler....

It pours a light amber orange with a pillowy off white head. Light toasted malt notes in the nose. More toast on the tongue with light floral from the hops. Definitely on the drier side (that’s a plus!). Not heavy or sweet. Solid

Somehow you always manage to drink at least one of these in the fall season.

Sam Adams is starting to baffle me with the similarities in their beers. Not much flavor here. Pretty much all I want to say.

12 oz bottle. The pour is a dark amber with hints of orange. There is a decent off white head that fades down to a nice film, leaving a minimal lace at best. The aroma is pretty heavy in malt. There are some nice bready characteristics to is and a soft subtle hoppiness to it. The flavor is similar. There is a good caramely maltiness, and it's not overly drawn out. The flavor has a nice lingering slightly bitter aftertaste, and the mouth feel is light, but decent

Orange-amber in color, clear with a pleasant head and tight bubbled sticky lace.
Aroma features a largely caramel smell. The malt is crisp with creamy milk sugars coming forward. Surprisingly, the alcohol warmth comes through, too.
Very round, rich mouthfeel. The flavor comes late, but strongly. Hop is strictly a balancing act to the full crystal malt flavors. The hop is more present after the swallow, but the aftertaste is still more malt; it’s also long lasting.

Had both in bottles, cans and on draught. A very decent marzen type beer. Probably the best of the Sam Adams seasons.

Wow! a very traditional hearty beer. Poured into a Sam Adams glass I get this nice classic golden copper color with a nice 2 inch egg shell white head. Lots of carbonation too. The aroma was I was picking up was mainly yeast and barley malt. A little caramel was present too though. I also got a bit of butterscotch too. In the taste it was what a traditional Oktoberfest should taste like: Light, but very easy drinking and very sessional . I get more caramel than anything else in this beer. Overall a very easy drinking Oktoberfest. A good transition from the summer to fall beers. It’s cheap to get, while at the same time pretty tasty. B+ for me.

Bottle at home. Pours a brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel, some chocolate syrup, toasted grains, earthy hops. For what it is, not too bad.
