COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

Situation: Friday before Thanksgiving week...perfect time for a final look at a Fest! Glassware: Ayinger willibecker... Appearance: light amber, orange-brownn body that colors the season well; off-white head that leaves tracings et remains whole... Aroma: piercing malts and spices that punch with honey and candied sugars--a rather bold presence.... Palate: rounded, slightly carbonic presence with a zesty finish; enjoyable as a stand-alone or with pub fare... Taste: malt profile is clear, crisp and round while delivering an aftertaste worth revisiting; nuanced enough not to be monolithic in maltiness... Overall: sugars assert themselves in a way that mkes me want to seek out leftover candy corn! A solid/just short of exceptional offering in the fall sampler....

Bottle. This is a good widely available Marzen but nothing special if you are into malty beers its worth a look.

Poured from a chilled bottle into a glass. Light brown body with a medium tan head. Not much of an aroma. Sweet lager taste with a hint of bitterness remaining on the palette.

A bit too strong on the caramel flavor and toffee. The sweetness is not well balanced by anything else making it a bit hard to finish up.

Clear deep amber-light reddish colour with a very low head and medium body. Nose of malt. Taste of copper, fresh hops, ripe dark grains, kefir, toffee, burnt caramel and nuts. On the first sip it seemed more like a light Bock but it got better. Quite quaffable, but the finish is little bit too coppery and sour.

Nice one from Sam Adams without being in the near of outstanding. Malty, bit sweetish with some sour aftertaste. Loads of caramel and nuts. Could also be a Bock or a Vienna. Drinkable, huge quality, but the taste doesn´t hit the points at all.

Bottle. I am not a big fan. Its orange, with nice head, long palate, hoppy taste but overall nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - Pours an amber orange. A 2 finger head that is tight and has excellent retention. It stayed at a 1/2 inch for a solid 7 min before I took a drink. Thick rings of lacing left behind. S - Caramel malt, doughy bread, toasted malt, lightly nutty. T - Rich caramel, fruit dipped in toffee, hints of brown sugar and cotton candy, some lager yeast in the background. Subtle hops add a faint spice note and cuts some of the sweetness. M - Superb! Medium body, soft a creamy. This is my favorite fall beer. It is almost perfect. When I think of fall this is the first thing that pops into my head. I honestly don’t know how anyone could not find this beer full of glorious flavor. I wish they sold this year around. I’m not a huge fan of this variety, but it’s not a bad version. Pours a nice amber color with a frothy white head. You get some of the malt on the nose and plenty of the caramel and toffee. It smells sweeter than it tastes. The taste is muted a bit and compares a bit to a marzen perhaps. Pretty decent, just not my favorite style.

Did not see the greta thing about it. Was creamy and soft. A little bit of strong hints but not much to say about.
