4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Situation: Friday before Thanksgiving week...perfect time for a final look at a Fest!
Glassware: Ayinger willibecker...
Appearance: light amber, orange-brownn body that colors the season well; off-white head that leaves tracings et remains whole...
Aroma: piercing malts and spices that punch with honey and candied sugars--a rather bold presence....
Palate: rounded, slightly carbonic presence with a zesty finish; enjoyable as a stand-alone or with pub fare...
Taste: malt profile is clear, crisp and round while delivering an aftertaste worth revisiting; nuanced enough not to be monolithic in maltiness...
Overall: sugars assert themselves in a way that mkes me want to seek out leftover candy corn! A solid/just short of exceptional offering in the fall sampler....

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The best offering on draft at the Chili’s in Gilroy while returning home. Pours a very clear dark amber with an off white head that is small, but retains. Both aroma and flavor have an overt malt richness. Some faint toast and plenty of caramel and bread loaf. This was quite tasty and enjoyable for a fest beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Pours deep amber, off-white head. Notes of caramel, toffee, baked bread. Definitely flavor of sweet malt, also caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, spices, hint of fruit. Crisp. Pleasant hops finish. Good brew.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12-ounce bottles in a large dimpled mug. Not necessarily a bad beer, I just don’t think I like the style all that much.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Originally rated on 9/15/08. Octoberfest is a fairly solid beer all the way around. Golden amber body, average carbonation, fair laceing left on glass. Flavor of sweet caramel malts, nicely balanced, with a full body.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rated from old notes. A medium bodied brew in which the malts are quite predominant. Only in the aftertaste did the hops come to the forefront. Well balanced, with a warm alcohol presence that makes itself felt after mid-bottle. Pleasant.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cleanly brewed as expected from Sam Adams. I nice easy to drink ale with malty caramel notes standing out as the dominant sweet flavour.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It’s a really easy beer to drink because it’s not overpowering in any way, but you can get better Octoberfest beers. However, I had it again recently and immediately questioned why I’d ever had it before, including that time, so there’s that.
