COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first thing you notice when pouring a glass of this seasonal beer is the color. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest has a rich, deep golden amber hue which itself is reflective of the season. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest is a malt lover’s dream, masterfully blending together four roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by the German Noble hops. Samuel Adams® Octoberfest provides a wonderful transition from the lighter beers of summer to the winter’s heartier brews.

A solid effort. Nice toasty aroma, maybe a bit too faint. Decent flavor with more toasty notes. Solid mouthfeel with a pleasant, not too bitter aftertaste. Not too adventurous, but another decent BBC brew.

Pours from a bottle copper with a medium off-white head with medium bubbles. Aroma is of caramel, flavor is of same, some bitterness towards end. Mouthfeel is full, almost buttery. Good beer.

Pours with a caramel color. Tastes of caramel, malts, and sweetness in general. I’ve had this beer quite a few times over the years and it seems to vary over the years. My favorite being when it first came out. The possibility of my tastes changing are there though. I don’t dislike this beer. I had this from tap and bottle.

A bit on the sweet as side for a marzen, but for the most part it’s typical for the style, is which is meh.

Bottle from the seasonal sampler pack. Poured into snifter glass. Deep amber color with a nice and quickly dissipating head. Aroma has sweetness as it’s primary motivation. Some of the bready, cereal elements that are found in other Oktoberfest variations. Taste leans towards sweet characteristics much more than other Oktoberfest beers I’ve sampled. Bubble gum. Almost a candy-like quality. Thin mouthfeel especially at the finish. For a mainstream brewery, it’s actually not a bad effort. Almost feels mis-classified in the Oktoberfest category.

Another of the Samuel Adam’s brew that I like. It has a variety of spices that give it a distinctive flavor. Nothing sweet or harsh about it, just a smooth flavorful beer you can sit back enjoy.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark amber, thin white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel. Taste is light sweet, touch of bitterness at the back. OK, but not exciting.

Dark amber pour under a thick off white head and heavy lacing. Nice and sweet, little bitter in the finish. Nicely drinkable.
