wcampbell (441), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2007 Decent, highly drinkable octoberfest. Typical malty flavor, not much stands out. Light bodied caramel flavor with no complexity. Boring after a while, but not bad at all.
Joakgust (91), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 14, 2008 Bottle, 33cl - A clear amber beer with a disappearing off white head. The aroma is filled with roasted malts, caramel and some fruitiness. Flavor is malty and slightly sour with hints of spices. Aroma gets one hoping for a real good beer, unfortunately the flavor fails a bit. Pretty good October nonetheless. Maverick34 (483), New York, USA Oct 12, 2008 Draft. Actually not a bad offering from the ol’ BBC. A bit too bland because the sweet predominates but otherwise not too awful. Drinkable. pandashaver (4), , Alabama, USA does not count Oct 12, 2008 Moderate aroma of malt, carmel, and candy corn over breadiness.
Poured a deep, transparent orange/brown...very festive. Head is fizzy, not large, little lacing, and not lingering.
Dominant malty sweetness in the flavor, with only a very lighty bitter hop flavor.
A light syrup character on the palate that sticks around for a little bit.
Definitely a great complement to some good grub. ajolly2 (121), USA Oct 12, 2008 I’m a novice to the Octoberfest style, but this one seems to be a good example. Pours amber with a copper tinge; fairly complex in the mouth; nice balance of malts with some fruity sweetness; could be a little less clean in the mouthfeel and aftertaste. Overall it’s very good for the price, and I’ll probably buy a 6-pack of it since it’s autumn anyway. joeymacaroni (144), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2008 pours deep amber-copper with a thick, quickly dissipating off-white head. not much lacing. aromas of caramel apple, malt, toffee. flavor is kinda thin, with malt, toffee and caramel being the only thing i taste. aftertaste is malty and i’m not too crazy about the taste it leaves. too malty, not enough balance. not my kind of oktoberfest.
